Description
The 343 was one of Beneteau's most popular models when it was new, and this boat has been well cared. A real sailor's boat from the factory, "Valiant" is being offered for only $79,900. She is equipped with the deep keel, a fully battened standard mainsail, adjustable backstay, and approximately 210' chain rode. The 343 shows some of Beneteau's innovations with a pivoting helm station wheel for better cockpit ergonomics at anchor, and a folding helm seat that gives great access to the swim step. Located close to Rock Hall, Maryland call to make an appointment to see this well-kept, clean sailboat.
Construction
Hull of hand-laid solid GRP bonded to a structural grid/hull liner of directional fiberglass/GRP for a strong, stiff, light composite. Vinylester hull barrier coat to resist osmotic blistering and zone-specific stitchmat laminates for specific increased strength optimization.
Cored GRP sandwich construction for stiffness, thermal and acoustic insulation and lighter weight. Solid fiberglass reinforcements in high load areas. Integral unidirectional GRP deck beams for added strength. Main bulkheads bonded 360° to the hull and deck for rigid torsional and compressive strength.
Accommodations
The Beneteau 343 features two staterooms and a very large head with a separate shower located aft at the companionway. The main salon features a dinette table to port with an "L" Settee and a straight Settee to starboard with a sit-down-aft facing navigation station to starboard as well. The aft stateroom has a huge double berth with nice light, ventilation, and a hanging locker. Plush foam mattress in the forward stateroom. The galley is aft and to the port side with a gimballed propane stove/oven with broiler outboard, stainless steel sink, hot/cold pressure water, dry storage outboard and below the countertops, and an athwartships under counter Isotherm DC Refrigeration system with front opening door and small freezer compartment. There is also wine storage under the galley countertop aft of the stove. Several opening ports provide light and cross ventilation and deck hatches feature sliding screens and blinds. The cabin sole is teak and holly, and the interior is finished in dark wood joinery with a beautiful finish. This yacht is equipped with reverse cycle air conditioning and heat pump. Easy engine access is under the removable companionway stairs, and from the aft stateroom. The cockpit is aft and features two large storage lockers (one port, one starboard) plus a propane locker with two large bottles aft. Walk Thru Transom with transom shower. The Pedestal steering wheel pivots for easy access through the transom and features a starboard cockpit table that stows away vertically.
