Design Comments
“Eclipse” is hull #6 (5906) of the very popular Hinckley Sou'wester 59's designed by the esteemed naval architect firm of McCurdy & Rhodes. These boats were designed to be comfortable weekend cruisers and at the same time to be true "Blue Water" vessels with the capabilities to take their owners anywhere in the world in safety and comfort. Centerboard configuration offers a minimum draft of 6’-6” with board up and a maximum draft of 12’-6” with board down. A moderate fin keel and skeg hung rudder allows this boat to provide the sailing performance of a modern-day contemporary cruiser/racer while at the same time, providing more traditional hull lines above the waterline.
