2020 Custom Carolina 42' _{(12.80 m)} Xcelerator Boatworks 42 Walkaround

The Carolina-style custom 42 Walkaround by Xcelerator Boatworks is an excellent hybrid of hardcore center console fishing boat and luxury sportfish boat. The Xcelerator 42 Walkaround has plenty of livewell capacity, rod storage, 35 gunnel mounted rod holders, two in-sole fish boxes, gaff storage, tackle drawers, and other features of a larger hardcore center console fishing boat, but combined with features found on sportfish boats such as the aft-facing mezzanine seat, full Bausch tuna tower with bench seat, steering station, and hardtop, rocket launcher array mounted between tower legs at aft edge of raised pilothouse hardtop and lower tower legs, on deck and in transom livewell systems, teaser reels recessed in hardtop underside, carbon fiber outriggers, icemaker, and custom Release Marine eleven-rod holder in cockpit. The centerline helm console with two Release Marine helm chairs, features the SeaStar Optimus EPS (Electronic Power Steering) system which has the helm (and other) wheels connected by small wires to an electronic sensor instead of to a hydraulic helm pump, eliminating large hydraulic lines. Autopilot is connected via a gateway module. EPS steering systems are also programmable to enhance low speed maneuverability, high speed stability and tracking, and performance steering angles. L-shaped seating forward of the console and on the starboard side is similar to that of a sportfish bridge, as is the roomy teak cockpit with teak coaming boards. The walkaround deck is teak, along with bow deck.

Where the Xcelerator 42 Walkaround excels beyond other 42-ft walkarounds, is in the nicely appointed, spacious cabin accommodations, thanks to the 14-ft beam and thoughtful interior layout. The 2-step raised helm deck, not only increases visibility, but space below deck for a comfortable cabin with twin berths, storage, and a 30” TV. To starboard, at foot of cabin steps, is the full head with shower, and on the portside is the galley with sink, cooktop, below counter refrigerator, microwave, and beautifully finished teak veneer cabinetry. Forward in the peak is a dinette with a filler cushion to convert to a V-berth. A 40” flatscreen TV is mounted above the dinette. Two rectangular portlights in the cabin sides let natural light into interior. Another feature of larger sportfish boats is the utilization of foredeck/cabin roof and bow area for relaxation area with forward facing seat at bow and two sunpads on the cabin top.

Xcelerator Boatworks is heavily invested in CAD and CNC machinery allowing clients to view detailed 3D CAD renderings to accurately envision their boat before construction, which is the cold-mold method for lightweight strength, efficient speed, durability, and quiet ride.
