The Viking 65 Sportfish Convertible was designed from the keel up to perform as a powerful tournament fishing yacht. Her sharp entry slices through the seas, throwing aside head sea waves as her twin 1800hp MTU engines speed at nearly 40 knots to prime fishing grounds or back to port to weigh in. The Viking 65’s responsive power-assisted steering can back, spin, and run her to chase the fastest gamefish and creating hardly any wake turbulence at 8 knots trolling speed—none at 3-4 knots pulling the Rupp triple spreaders rigged for tuna!

Vikings are known for their formidable fishability as well as their extremely clean, clutter-free cockpits, galleys and interiors, and pristine engine rooms—well organized for maintenance and servicing. They are also known for durable construction and beautiful, comfortable interiors for extended cruises to distant fishing grounds or a family vacation at sea. The Viking 65 Enclosed Bridge Convertible is designed with loads of built-in storage in every available space—underneath furniture, seating, steps, under cockpit gunnels, under counters, in cabinetry, closets, and drawers throughout the yacht’s interior and exterior spaces. VAGRANT is built solidly to take on rough sea conditions and endure with steel I-beam engine beds and composite construction for increased strength and weight savings to maximize performance efficiencies. The 2002 Viking convertible was the first model to feature prop pockets in the hull running bottom, reducing shaft angle for greater efficiency and shallower draft.

VAGRANT, a 2002 Viking 65 Enclosed Bridge Convertible, was completely refit and updated, and is absolutely gorgeous! She features the 3 cabin/3 head layout choice offered by Viking with the forward VIP stateroom configured with a centerline queen berth and the master suite features the aft lounge area option with a day bed, computer desk, and large closet with mirrored doors. Entire interior has been updated with custom designer wall coverings, carpeting, flooring, and more. The 179 sq ft teak cockpit features the first Viking factory built-in mezzanine deck and cushioned seating along the forward bulkhead. A custom shade fly extends from the bridge aft deck and is mounted to aluminum poles set in covering board rod holders. Stereo speakers are built into the mezzanine seat bases and cockpit sides; freezers, fridges, tackle storage are built into the lower mezzanine deck and steps to salon entrance. Fishboxes and a livewell are built into the cockpit sole along with a 3/8” aluminum plate for adding your own marlin fighting chair, rocket launcher rod holder with bait tray, or table if desired. An additional fishbox is built into the transom. The spacious, shaded cockpit and mezzanine is a great place for outdoor entertaining and evening cocktails, with plenty of space for deck chairs. A sturdy athwartships ladder with teak steps lead from the mezzanine up to the bridge’s exterior aft deck and the aft entry door to the enclosed bridge lounge and helm.

VAGRANT’s elegantly updated climate-controlled bridge features a raised platform with Ultraleather settee and glossy black triangular cocktail table, designer carpeting, TV, entertainment center with wine cooler and mini-fridge. A spiral staircase to port of the forward helm console, leads down to the main salon. A single centerline helm seat is flanked by Ultraleather upholstered forward facing bench seats. The bridge aft deck features an aft facing bench seat and ladder to the custom Palm Beach tower, and a steering/control station on the starboard side for backing into a slip or maneuvering on a fish. VAGRANT is a perfect combination of sportfish and cruising yacht!
