About
2012 Cabo HTX 44 Express Sportfish, HOT MIX
The legendary, proven Cabo inboard, offshore express sportfish boats are highly respected by serious offshore anglers and continue to be one of the most coveted brands of sportfishers in the world for their quality and reliability. Founded in 1991 in Adelanto, CA, Cabo moved to the east coast in 2006 when purchased by Brunswick, sharing the Hatteras facility in New Bern, NC. HOT MIX with its well-designed 2-stateroom cabin with beautiful satin-finished book matched teak joinery, offers anglers greater comfort and amenities than a center console, allowing them to stay out longer on an overnighter or weekender. The guest stateroom with single berth has a second pullman-style berth above; the forepeak master queen berth closes off with a pocket door for privacy.
The stylishly sleek integrated hardtop with large 3-section windshield and side windows, and custom Isinglass aft panels, results in a fully enclosed helm deck in air-conditioned comfort. A zippered entrance panel rolls up. Side windows slide open for ventilation, along with a small overhead hatch. An L-shaped settee provides comfortable seating for 5-6 crew/guests. Two companion Stidd helm seats flank the centerline captain’s seat on an 8” raised platform providing excellent visibility forward and aft—including transom corners. The Cabo HTX 44 is renowned for its dry comfortable ride and efficient performance, even in rough conditions, stable and level on the Michael Peters designed hull with prop tunnels, shallow 3’7” draft, deep-V and flared bow. Unlike most Carolina-styled sportfish boats, the Cabo HTX 44 has a bow pulpit and wrap around bow rail referring to its California roots, where offshore anglers would cast off of the bow to tailing marlin!
This highly fishable HTX 44, features a full gap tower with buggy top by Carolina Custom Towers and a Release leaning post with 6 rod holders and 2 cupholders in the nearly 100 sq ft cockpit with mezzanine seating like a much larger convertible sportfish. The split opening 56 gal. livewell with aquarium window is molded into the center of the transom. HOT MIX’s uncluttered cockpit is fitted with all amenities needed for successful offshore fishing—large macerated fishboxes with chill plate, bait freezer, tackle storage, flush mounted rod holders, double spreader outriggers, rocket launcher array between tower legs, latched transom door (same hardware as Hatteras) and plenty of storage. HOT MIX features the Zipwake dynamic trim control system, instead of trim tabs, for dynamically eliminating uncomfortable boat pitch and roll—delivering a better ride, and enhancing performance and fuel savings by automatically minimizing wave resistance.
