INTERIOR
Gladius’ interior is comprised of a large open salon and dining area, with the galley, day head and master stateroom on the main deck, separated by a raised pilothouse. There are also four guest staterooms on the lower level. All the guest accommodations have an en-suite head with shower, and there are also three crew cabins with two heads and stall showers in the bow area.
SALON AND DINING AREA
The salon is accessed from the aft deck via the powered sliding doors and consists of a large sitting area with an “L” shaped sofa to port and a coffee table in front, the TV mounted to starboard, and the entertainment equipment installed in a locker in the starboard companionway. At the forward end of the salon is the formal dining area which comes with a beautiful stone table and designer dining chairs. The galley is forward to port. There is a doorway forward to starboard that leads to the starboard companionway and the day head. There are two stairways inboard for access to the pilothouse and lower guest accommodation, with another doorway forward to access the “on-deck” master stateroom. This entire area is surrounded with large windows and flooded with natural light to complement the light, modern interior.
GALLEY
The galley is forward to port of the dining area. All equipment in “as new” condition. There is ample counterspace on the stone countertops and good storage in built in lockers and drawers. A powered custom partition and door allows the galley to be separated from salon/dining area when required. Forward of the galley and inboard is a large pantry area, with access to the crew area and the laundry center outboard.
ACCOMMODATIONS
MASTER STATEROOM
The master stateroom on the main deck is accessed via the starboard side companionway just forward of the dining room. Upon entry there is a small seating area to starboard with a walk-in closet inboard to port. The King bed is aft on the centerline with built-in cabinetry to port & starboard, with a small vanity desk on the port side. There is wood flooring throughout the stateroom. There are dual entrances to the head; forward to port and starboard. This head is full beam with private toilet stall to port and a shower to starboard with his & hers sinks in between.
PORT FORWARD STATEROOM
The port forward stateroom is accessed from the lower guest companionway and comes with two single berths that are convertible to a single large bed (King). The stateroom has carpeted floors, good storage in built in lockers, and beautiful en-suite bathroom, including head, shower and sink.
STARBOARD FORWARD STATEROOM
The starboard forward stateroom is accessed from the lower guest companionway and comes with two single berths that are convertible to a single large bed (King). The stateroom has carpeted floors, good storage in built in lockers, and beautiful en-suite bathroom, including head, shower and sink.
PORT AFT STATEROOM
The port aft stateroom is accessed from the guest companionway and comes with a King bed, carpeted floors, good storage in built in lockers and the head and stall shower is accessed aft.
STARBOARD AFT STATEROOM
The starboard aft stateroom is accessed from the guest companionway and comes with a King bed, carpeted floors, good storage in built in lockers and the head and stall shower is accessed aft.
CREW AREA
This area is located all the way forward and accessed down the stairwell, forward to port of the galley. There is a crew lounge area aft to port at the base of the steps, with the captain’s cabin outboard to starboard, which comes with a single berth, athwartship and a private head and shower stall. Forward in the companionway are two double cabins, each with single upper and lower bunks and good storage lockers, and just aft of the port cabin is a shared head and shower stall.
PILOTHOUSE
The raised pilothouse is accessed from the sliding door at the flybridge, or from the port and starboard stairways on the main deck. The helm is forward on centerline with all engine controls, gauges and electronics easy to reach from the single, powered helm seat. Aft to port, there is a raised dinette with table in front, and there is good storage in lockers.
MACHINERY SPACE
The machinery space is accessed via a watertight centerline deck hatch on the aft deck or via the hatch at the starboard side of the side deck. The machinery space houses the main engines, transmissions, generators, shore power transformer units, two gyroscopic stabilizer units, hydraulic pump unit for stabilizer fins and thrusters, majority of air conditioning plant, steering gear, batteries and chargers and majority of seacocks.
FLYBRIDGE AND HARDTOP
The flybridge is accessed via port or starboard stairs from the aft deck, or through the sliding door aft in the pilothouse. There is a large open deck aft with loose lounge chair seating. Forward to starboard is where you find the wet bar housing two refrigerators, ice maker, sink with faucet and flat screen television on a powered lift. There is a large seating area to port with a teak dining table and seating for ten. The helm is forward to starboard with two helm seats. All critical engine controls and electronics are duplicated at this station.
Opposite to port there are two additional pilot chairs. There are walk around decks to port and starboard that lead to the bow area which makes it very easy to access the bow club and lower decks.
The fiberglass hardtop has a powered sunroof with louvers, and there are two satellite domes, two ship’s horns, light mast, open radar array, along with GPS and VHF antennas.
AFT DECK AND SWIM PLATFORM
Boarding motoryacht GLADIUS is via port or starboard side boarding doors at the aft deck, or from the swim platform with passarelle. The swim platform is hydraulic and covered with teak planks. There is a large aft facing built-in lounge seating area on top of the powered tender garage door at the transom. The garage can store a tender with room for storage. There are port and starboard transom steps leading up to the aft deck. A large articulating teak dining table is surrounded by bench style seating with fantastic visibility. There are stairs outboard to port and starboard leading up to the flybridge with a docking station below the port side stairs. To starboard is where you find access to the engine room with an additional large centerline deck hatch for access to the engine room as well. Port and starboard side decks go forward to midships with sliding doors on both sides for interior access to the dining area. There is also separate crew access to port. Direct access from the aft deck to the salon is through the large, powered sliding glass doors.
SIDE DECKS AND FOREDECK
Side decks run outboard along the port and starboard sides of the flybridge with a starboard side door to the flybridge helm station. Forward of the pilothouse windshields on the bow, there is a large, recessed sun pad area with steps on the centerline leading down to a built-in seating area with powered high/low dinette tables. The anchor windlasses are installed on the foredeck with hatches adjacent to access the chain lockers and storage.

My Present
My name is Wes Sanford, and I sell yachts to and for some of the most successful individuals and families in the world. I prefer data over opinion and function over form, but it’s important to embrace the relevant intangibles of yacht ownership such as brand, style, and aesthetic. Yacht ownership is often less an exercise in logic than it is a passion for the water and a reward for an exceptionally successful life. So, you can enjoy the latter while I manage everything behind the scenes or beneath the surface.
My Past
I graduated from Stanford University with a degree in Quantitative Economics and began my business career as a financial analyst in the aerospace industry before transitioning to yachting in 1994. I became a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, traveling and living in Costa Rica, Honduras, Mexico and the Virgin Islands. I worked for many years as a charter yacht captain with a 500-ton USCG Master’s License and have been working as a licensed yacht broker since 2004.
My Future
I aspire to do more adventurous travel around the globe.
My Mottos
Quality is not an accident.
Success doesn’t come easy.
Happiness must be intentional.
My Outside-office Life
I spend my time with family and friends around the water or in the mountains. Wake surfing, snow skiing, salmon fishing, sailing, hiking, paddle boarding, golf and pickleball are just a few things I enjoy in my free time.
Fast Facts
My teenage daughter, Charlotte, has already done her first solo flight on her way to getting her private pilot’s license
I am the son of a mayor of Juneau, Alaska, and the great-grandson of a governor of Alaska
My wife, Kelly, was a successful yacht chef who became a well-published yachting magazine contributor, now an aspiring author
Notable large yachts sold include new deliveries of 235’, 221’ and 217’
