2024 Beneteau 46' (14.02 m) Oceanis
Charleston, South Carolina, United States
Apart from her performance at sea and the huge amount of space that set this boat apart, this architecture makes optimal use of the cockpit beam. An incredibly efficient deck plan makes her wonderfully safe and easy to use. Maneuvering is simple when sailing short-handed, thanks to the furling mast, self-tacking jib, and all the halyards and sheets that lead back to a single winch at each of the helm stations.

Description
Easy to sail, easy-going and fast, the Oceanis 46.1 can be customized to make her unique, appealing to a wide range of crews. Attention to design details makes life on board a real pleasure and you can sail confidently in the knowledge that she is safe. Apart from her performance at sea and the huge amount of space that set this boat apart, this architecture makes optimal use of the cockpit beam. An incredibly efficient deck plan makes her wonderfully safe and easy to use. Maneuvering is simple when sailing short-handed, thanks to the furling mast, self-tacking jib, and all the halyards and sheets which are brought back to a single winch at each of the helm stations. Large hull portholes bring a considerable amount of natural light right into the center of the boat, so that you can truly enjoy the elegant interiors by Nauta Design. A choice of satin light oak or mahogany set the tone and create the interior atmosphere, which can be readily customized. The Oceanis 46.1 has a very spacious cockpit with space for 8 guests around a large table. There are two reclining sun loungers together with drinks holders on either side of the companionway. These can easily be lifted and brought forward onto the fore deck.

The name Chuck Laughlin is synonymous with St. Barts Yachts. After graduating from the University of Illinois, Chuck spent 10 years in the Middle East and Far East working for Schlumberger in the oilfields. In 1986 he returned to the US to start a development company. In 1987, while building Harborgate Marina in N. Myrtle Beach, SC, Chuck decided to open a yacht brokerage and teamed up with the newly built Beneteau Marion factory. In the first ten years St Barts expanded their dealership territory from Horry County to SC, NC, GA and TN. In the fall of 1996 St Barts relocated to Charleston, SC with the move of Beneteau corporate. Soon after Chuck opened locations in Oriental, NC and Jacksonville, FL to better represent his Southeast clientele. After almost 30 years, Chuck still loves the yachting business. As an engineer he derives great satisfaction from putting a boat together well, from just the spark of an idea to the final commissioning details. He takes great pride in the relationships he has formed over the years with boat owners, watching them enjoy their new boats. Chuck is an avid sailor and boater. He is just as happy taking his wife Lisa and their 2 kids sailing as he is taking his ten closest friends out motoring in Charleston harbor. When not at work, you can often find Chuck relaxing at the James Island Yacht Club.
