WALKTHROUGH
SUN DECKThe vessel features a raised semi-circular seating area with a table at the forward section. Amidships, there's a large stack housing a sauna, dayhead, separate shower, and a glass-enclosed massage room. Aft of this area, there are storage lockers and firefighting lockers on both port and starboard sides. A covered exterior marble dining table for eight guests is situated aft of the massage room, accompanied by a full bar and three bar stools to starboard. Amidships, there's a large Jacuzzi dip-pool with stairs leading down to the boat deck on the port side. A spacious, full-beam movable settee is positioned aft, accompanied by a pop-up 42” TV for watching movies under the stars. Additionally, there are two three-seater couches and two comfortable chairs. Remarkably, the furniture can be rearranged to convert the area into a large helicopter landing pad with fixing points and removable railings at the aft section. The helicopter tiedowns are currently repurposed as poles for the three-section sheer sun awning.
UPPER DECK
Ahead of the wheelhouse lies a second exterior semi-circular seating area accompanied by a table, offering a tranquil spot away from the main gathering area. Beyond this seating arrangement is a pathway leading to the foredeck. Here, you'll find two anchor windlasses and a hatch leading to the anchor locker, storing additional fenders and lines. The foredeck also features a 3,000lbs SWL rescue crane on the port side, two sets of wave runner chocks, and space in the center for a 15ft tender. This area serves as an excellent working deck, ideal for maintenance tasks away from guest traffic. Additionally, a bosun’s store is located in the forward section of the superstructure, along with air-handling units and crew escape hatches. Moving aft, the wheelhouse features port and starboard bridge wings control stations, with stairs on either side leading down to the main deck. Inside the wheelhouse, there are two leather sofas and a helmsman’s position, along with two desks (port & starboard) and a spacious chart table amidships, serving as ample workstations and the ship’s office for the Chief officer and Chief Stewardess. Having dedicated workspaces for the crew sets STARFIRE apart from other yachts in her size range and contributes to crew longevity. The Captain’s cabin, located to starboard, offers comfort for two crew members, featuring a desk adjacent to the Chief Officer's desk, a queen-size bed with dual monitors displaying navigational equipment and CCTV cameras, and amenities similar to the guest cabins. On the port side behind the bridge is the upper pantry, equipped with two refrigerators, a coffee machine, sink, and dishwasher, with an internal crew stairwell leading to the lower pantry. A door aft of the upper pantry leads to the upper foyer, providing access to the VIP Cabin, top deck, main deck foyer, or upper salon. The VIP queen cabin, known as the "room with the view," is located to starboard and boasts two large windows with blackout shades, a queen-sized bed, a desk, and a small couch under the windows. Its ensuite bathroom features a bathtub and a beautiful stainless steel shell sink. Adjacent to the VIP cabin, the upper foyer leads to a vast upper deck salon spanning the yacht's full width, featuring a fireplace, spacious seating, and a fully equipped wet bar. Glass sliding doors open to a fully enclosed formal upper dining area with a large table for 10 guests, allowing plenty of natural daylight and offering an option for al-fresco dining. The upper aft deck features a davit for storing toys during long sea journeys, while in regular guest use, it offers a spacious dining area with a teak table and chairs, accommodating up to twelve people. Additionally, the slide neatly nestles into the starboard side bulwark door when deployed. Furthermore, a discreetly hidden slide box with a comfortable cushion atop is situated on the deck, along with two teak chairs tucked into a cozy nook by the flagpole and storage lockers around the perimeter. Staircases provide access to the sundeck and lead down to the port side of the aft deck. MAIN DECK
Descending from the upper foyer is a comfortable staircase leading to the lower foyer, where you'll find a door to the starboard main deck for greeting guests when docked on the starboard side. Adjacent to the staircase is an elegant dayhead featuring a delicate gold sink. The Owner’s cabin, situated directly forward of the staircase, boasts a sitting room / office furnished with two comfortable chairs and a roll-top desk. A 42-inch TV, enclosed in a picture frame, and a wet bar are also provided in this space. Double doors from the sitting room lead to the full-width master cabin, characterized by large oval windows with blackout shades. The master cabin features a California king bed centrally positioned facing forward, with a pop-up TV at the foot of the bed. On the port side, there's a lounging chair with an ottoman, along with a vanity equipped with power outlets. The starboard side offers a chair and dresser for additional garments. Before entering the bathroom on either side, there are two large closets, which can be locked to secure the owner's personal items during charters. The master bathroom spans the full beam, featuring a large bathtub at the centerline and a spacious shower accessible from either side. Her side of the bathroom includes a sink, enclosed lavatory with a bidet, and an escape door to the bosun's locker, while his side features a sink and enclosed lavatory. The ensuite is tastefully designed with honey onyx, gold sinks, and fixtures. From the main foyer, there is access to the lower pantry and a stairwell leading to the crew mess. The lower pantry is fully equipped with storage cabinets, a sink, ample counter space, a dishwasher, fridge, and icemaker. A doorway from the main pantry leads to the main dining room, situated just forward on the port side. Adjacent to the lower pantry, the galley features an island-style cooking area with an induction cooktop and two ovens. With two sinks and ample space, it accommodates two chefs working simultaneously and is spacious enough for the occasional visit from the guests or owners. Three large fridges and one smaller deep produce fridge offer ample storage, while a large window and desk enhance the workspace for the culinary team. Moving aft from the main deck guest entrance lobby, you'll find the formal dining room, adorned with a marble circular table for 12 guests and a pre-Lalique chandelier. Surrounding the room are cabinets made of cherry and Lacewood for storage and marble countertops for service. The formal dining room connects, via beautifully-etched pocket glass doors, to the main salon, featuring a full wet bar aft to port. Seating includes two three-person couches forward and aft, two chairs starboard, and two comfortable chairs with ottomans on the port side. A 50-inch pop-up TV is located on the starboard side. The overheads are a stacked beige pattern, and the floors are a stained wood with an Asian rug. A marble stairway to starboard leads down to the guest cabins, while sliding glass doors open from white marble to a covered teak aft deck with seating for up to 14 guests at the dining table, which can be converted into a low coffee table. Aft of the sliding doors, countertops and storage lockers are situated on both port and starboard sides. The walkaround decks provide access to cleaning and fire lockers. Fueling can be done from the main deck at three locations: port, starboard, or aft. An open staircase to port leads down to the swimming platform/lazarette with a stern folding door, and a stairwell leads to the bridge deck aft.
LOWER DECK The swim deck boasts a large hydraulic stern door that folds down effortlessly and turns into a swim platform. Ample storage can be found in the aft cupboards, along with a convenient day head and shower. On the starboard side of the platform, an open shower provides the perfect spot for rinsing off salt before heading indoors. This deck offers plenty of space for sunbathing or facilitating the loading and unloading of guests from the Tender. Descending from the main deck salon down the guest stairs reveals a spacious foyer. Equipped with a small fridge and countertop, this area is ideal for serving coffee and morning bites. The two aft cabins on this level are identical, each featuring queen beds, a day couch, and a desk. Marble showers and sinks add a touch of luxury to the bathrooms, while ample closet and drawer space ensure convenience. The forward two cabins are furnished with twin beds and one fold-down pullman in each room increasing sleeping capacity to 14 guests when running privately. These cabins also feature small desks and bathrooms with marble showers and sinks. Large portlights offer stunning ocean views, and 30-inch TVs provide entertainment in all four rooms. Taking the stairway from the main pantry leads to the crew mess and lounge, a remarkable space for a 54m yacht. The crew enjoys a spacious dining area accommodating up to 14 crew members, complete with its own microwave, stove, oven, and dishwasher. Additionally, there's a comfortable sitting area on the port side where seven crew members can relax on the couch and watch TV. The two spaces are separated by cabinetry and storage, with large portlights and CCTV monitors enhancing functionality. This setup contributes to STARFIRE's excellent crew longevity, providing ample space for the crew to spread out and unwind. All crew accommodation is situated forward, featuring five double bunk bed cabins and a chief engineer’s cabin with twin beds and a pullman bunk. The Chief's cabin is equipped with a large desk and workspace. At the end of the crew hallway, an escape hatch leads to the foredeck, while a storage area and access to the bow thruster compartment can be found under the forward crew stairs. Descending one deck lower to the tank deck reveals a large drink fridge, walk-in fridge, freezer, and dry storage pantry. The ship’s laundry facility is equipped with three Miele washers, three dryers, ample counter space, and a Laurastar ironing board. Direct access from the crew stairs leads to the engine room via the sound-shielded control room. The control room provides space for two engineers and a well-appointed desk workstation. The engine room itself is exceptionally spacious and thoughtfully laid out.

My Present
Please allow me to introduce myself; my name is Carl Sputh, Sales and Charter Broker with Northrop & Johnson. A quest in my life is to facilitate the ideal charter vacation that will last in the client and guest’s memory forever and to help a client find the perfect yacht, a vessel that will make their dreams come true. This is something I feel confident in, thanks to my knowledge of the Marine Industry.
My Past
I was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. I spent a portion of my childhood on the idyllic Water Island in the United States Virgin Islands on a Force 50 sailboat and became a motor yacht Captain at the age of 21. In 2001, I received the accolade of the “Best Captain of a Motor Yacht” at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. To my great pleasure, it was given to me for representing a “can do” attitude and being a positive leader. This is a mantra that I strive for in everything that I do.
Possessing a 3000 Ton Master’s License, I have spent ample time in the Baltic, Mediterranean, Greece, the Caribbean, the Bahamas and the East Coast of the United States. There are no ports that I haven’t seen in these areas, no cultural experiences that I haven’t explored or restaurant cuisine that I haven’t partaken in and enjoyed. This research and planning have been done for the benefit of our guests, and I must admit my own joy! I know itineraries, understand complicated travel logistics and guests’ needs and desires; a 90% return charter rate attests to this knowledge.
The most significant factor in my success as a charter Captain is that I understood at a young age that everyone needs an effortless holiday with their friends and family, a time to unwind, reflect and refresh. I always understood how important my job was, not only for the owner of the vessel and my crew but also for my guests' mental and physical health. Everyone needs an effortless, intuitive vacation or charter experience to go back home and excel in their own lives.
Twenty-nine years later, I have managed a new yacht construction project, served as Captain of five yachts (a 114' vessel for five years, a 130' vessel for five years, a 178' vessel for 17 years and a 196' vessel for two years) all with multiple refits. I guided vessels successfully through numerous Lloyd’s 5, 10, 15 and 20-year surveys, 30+ Atlantic crossings, 700,000 nautical miles and a lifetime on our precious oceans to eventually arrive at Northrop and Johnson.
My Future
I hope to bring my vast, comprehensive yachting and charter experience to Northrop and Johnson for the benefit of making dream vacations and yacht ownership come true for my clients. My solemn promise to you and yours is to bring my life-long philosophies in choosing the right yacht for my clients and your loved ones.
My Motto
No problems, only solutions
My outside-office life
I spend time with my wife Viktoriya and our 4-year-old son (and my best friend, Kai) exploring and having adventures together. I appreciate the opportunity to teach Kai the art of seamanship, kindness and expectation management.
Fast Facts
I enjoy yachting, sailing, racing stand-up jet skis, hydro foiling and all things that move in the water. I love to slalom ski early in the morning when the water is calm and so graciously inviting.
I hold a private helicopter license. This hobby gets me off the water and into the air.
I thrive on gathering and sharing knowledge for the benefit of giving others their dream vacation or owning their own yacht. My dad is a Captain, my brother is a Captain and I’m a Captain; I was born into and know the Marine Industry!
