TRULY A BEAUTY.
NO HURRICANE DAMAGE
This well cared for and beautifully updated Lagoon 440 is one of the most versatile and well appointed catamarans in this price range. Updates include a beautifully redone saloon with Corian countertops, starboard engine replacement, recent windlass replacement, 220 and 110 inverters, updated electronics, and 960 watts of solar.
The large flybridge steering and seating position on the upper deck allow everyone onboard to have an incredible 360-degree view and participate in crewing and sailing from the covered helm. The outdoor living space on a Lagoon 440 is tough to beat. Katarina has been fitted with a custom full size bimini over the flybridge and has extra lounging space with a custom fabricated shade to cover the trampolines and forward lounge. The v-berth mattresses have been covered and repurposed for ultimate outdoor comfort while lounging over the trampolines.
Katarina’s spacious aft cockpit is protected under a rigid bimini top. A bluetooth sound system with 6 speakers add to the ambiance while sailing or resting at anchor. Passage to and from the saloon and galley is unhampered. There is a large dining table both in the saloon and in the cockpit, one of which can be stowed in a cleverly designed locker built in the bimini top. For extra security, a wired camera and DVR system with networking capability monitor the cockpit and dinghy davits.
The saloon on the bridge deck adjoining the 2 hulls is an open floor area with a 360 degree panoramic view, that includes a U-shaped settee sitting eight people comfortably, a full galley to starboard with a sliding window opening to the aft cockpit. The galley includes gorgeous easy-care Corian countertops, a 3 burner propane stove and an updated Eno oven. She is also plumbed and wired for a washing machine (current washing machine is on the fritz and needs to be fixed or replaced). There is plenty of refrigeration with a large custom cockpit refrigerator and an additional large Dometic fridge/freezer.
The aft cabins have queen-size central beds, with the starboard Owner’s cabin featuring a custom made Tempur mattress and a 32” flat screen TV. The forward cabins have comfortable double beds. All cabins have their own heads/showers.
Katarina has been well cared for in the Caribbean, and has never seen a hurricane. She has no storm (or any other damage). Additional features include a 2022 aluminum bottom dinghy and 18hp outboard. All lighting has been updated to LED and the battery bank is less than 4 months old. Custom fabricated sun shades allow the cockpit to be comfortable any time of day. A Honda generator powers the Rainmaker 32gph watermaker. The full batten square top mainsail makes sailing quick and fun. The headsail rolling furler was rebuilt in early 2023.
Overall, you will find Katarina to be well accommodated for liveaboard sailors who want to enjoy the cruising lifestyle. You can go off-grid for weeks using the solar, refrigeration, and watermaker. And with any luck, you’ll be able to catch all the fish you can eat (2 poles, reels, and lucky lures included).
Washing machine/tumble drier needs to be replaced.

Having started in the aircraft industry as an apprentice engineer in the mid seventies, the progression to sailboats was natural. Arriving in the Caribbean in 1981 for the first time, I was hooked on the beauty and the lifestyle. It took me more than 10 years back home to afford and rebuild my first yacht, which, after having sailed across from Africa in the early nineties, has been our permanent home. After chartering and being involved in almost all the aspects of the marine industry for over fourty years, we now have a family and don't do charters anymore.... we still have the boat though!

Having started in the aircraft industry as an apprentice engineer in the mid-seventies, the progression to sailboats was natural.
First trip to the Caribbean was in 1980 and have been here permanently since 1994 as a charter captain and refit engineer.
When we had a family I started the brokerage business after a rather disappointing experience selling a project boat.
The brokerage has grown over the last two decades through dedicated attention to details and enthusiastic references from our many happy clients…who have all become friends.
