Description
“Tortuga” is a beautifully converted aft pilothouse steel shrimper hull that is setup perfectly for a private mothership operation for Chandeleur Island fishing and an excellent long-range cruiser due to her 2000-gallon fuel capacity and comfortable accommodations. Professional conversion to yacht use in 2003 with tongue and groove walls and mahogany trim interior.
Exterior commercial fishing equipment removed and forward fish hold converted to master stateroom with private head and guest stateroom with twin bunks at that time. Spacious salon has L-shaped seating with table starboard and couch to port with centerline helm and Galley aft. Day/Guest head is across from the Galley and there are access doors port, starboard, and aft. Central air conditioning unit keeps Tortuga comfortable on long cruises.
Cummins 215hp diesel engine is freshwater keel cooled with dry stack exhaust and was recently rebuilt with low hours. Bow and stern thrusters for easy docking. Vessel dry docked in Spring of 2024 for hull maintenance, zincs, and bottom paint. Topside paint was also renewed in 2024.
2020 16’ Reno fiberglass skiff with tiller Yamaha F40 included!

Cass Fishbein’s understanding of boats and their owner’s needs comes from a family heritage of custom boat building, ownership, and restoration. He recently completed a refit of “RANGER” a diesel powered wooden sportfisher his father built when Cass was six years old. Cass also spent a number of years owning a 40′ shrimp boat that was converted from commercial use to a private yacht for coastal cruising along the Gulf Coast as a mothership for inshore fishing expeditions.
Cass earned a BS in Business Administration from Springhill College in Mobile, AL and strives to give his clients a professional experience before and well after the sale is completed. He believes in an honest and educated approach to selling yachts. During college, Cass outfitted sportfishing boats and sold gear at J&M Tackle for five years. He was able to transition smoothly into yacht brokerage after he closed his first deal on a 43 Viking Express. That first deal would lead to many more, as Cass spent the next ten years with Marine Group where he was able to learn many lessons and polish his craft.
From an early age he knew he wanted to sell boats, and was well prepared having grown up on the water and taking care of his diesel powered boats. Cass learned early on from refinishing boats that hard work and skill are required in all facets of life; having started his career during a recession followed by an oil spill proved that even further.
His passion for custom boats is on par with his desire to put buyers in the right boat for their needs whether it is a well maintained production boat or something one of a kind. Cass prides himself on the fact that many of his deals are with repeat customers or are referrals from happy clients. He is truly honored when a past client calls him to sell their boat or introduces him to a friend! Cass’s goal with anyone he sells a boat to is to become “Their Broker” and the only person they trust with their transactions for as long as they are boaters.
If you are a first time buyer you will truly appreciate the time Cass will spend getting you comfortable with the proper care, maintenance, and operation of your new vessel so you can enjoy it for many years to come. Cass’s experience, integrity, and passion make him a perfect match for United Yacht Sale’s modern approach to marketing which gets your boat the exposure it needs to sell. If you are in the market to buy or sell a motoryacht, sportfisherman, trawler, express, cruiser, walkaround or center console, gas or diesel, inboard or outboard, Cass would love to speak with you!
