Description
This fine example of a Sun Odyssey 43 DS 'Options' was a fresh water vessel for the majority of its life before the previous owners made some thoughtful upgrades for Caribbean cruising such as new Raymarine Electronics, Wind generator, solar panels, watermaker, etc. ‘Options’ features 2 generous master staterooms and a spacious Deck Saloon that lets in ample natural light and allows panoramic views from the saloon, much like standing in the saloon of a catamaran.
Over the past 50 years, Jeanneau has preserved its passion for the sea and pushed the boundaries of design. This Jeanneau 43 Deck Salon is an excellent example of the marriage of cruising comfort with performance. This yacht sports a traditional nautical look with teak timberwork, teak and holly floorboards and rich blue soft furnishings. The result is a handsome interior which is light and airy thanks to the deck saloon.
Well equipped, recently refitted and outfitted with all the creature comforts for comfortable cruising. If you are looking for a well outfitted performance cruiser to sail the Caribbean and beyond this is your boat! This listing will not last long on today's market.

Interior Accommodations
Step down the companionway and enjoy ice-cold AC, the teak and holly refinished cabinsole and rich use of teak in the construction of the interior. The 43DS' most prominent feature is the wrap-around panoramic view from within the salon. With light coming in from both the side windows and the roof, the salon is very light and airy and provides great ventilation. Jeanneau has done a fine job of blending the large windows and raised roof into the deck design.
Headroom in the 43 DS is 6' 5" through most of the interior. In the saloon area are a U-shaped settee and dining table to starboard and twin seats divided by a smaller table to port. This doubles as the navigation station, to allow the incorporation of a large bathroom with separate shower stall on the port side of the companionway. There is a second, smaller ensuite bathroom in the forward cabin area.
The large L-shaped galley is on the starboard side of the companionway, and is very well-equipped with a twin stainless steel sinks supplied with pressurized hot and cold water, a huge 230lt refrigerator, two burner stove/oven and a clever storage area for pots & pans.
There are separate refrigerator and ice-box compartments. The fridge has a topload hatch and a stainless steel front load door. The icebox compartment has a top load access and can be made into a freezer with the addition of freezer module. A gimbled, stainless Eno 2-burner stove & oven is propane. A Kenmore microwave is mounted above the stove. Abundant storage is found under counter, above counter and under the cabin sole in provided bins. A great galley!
'Options' is the two cabin, two head version featuring the spacious aft owner's cabin. The aft stateroom is very large, with a walk-around center-line queen-sized bed, ample storage with hanging lockers on each side, seating on each side & private access to aft head with separate shower.
Forward is a guest cabin also trumps most 'owners cabins' with its center-line double, well thought out spacious layout and ensuite access to the forward head. This forward V-berth measures 6' 5" long by 4' 8" wide with plenty of storage and hanging space and a desk/vanity unit in the starboard aft corner which could be used as an office during extended cruising. Both cabins also feature custom mattresses that feel like you are sleeping on a cloud

Damage/Repair Disclosure
This vessel was de-masted and fell to port while on the hard in Hurricane Irma in Nanny Cay Boatyard in 2017. The vessel suffered one hole in the hull from falling to port but luckily did not hit any stringers or bulkheads making for an easy fix. It did not take a hard impact to the ground but she laid over onto another vessel which helped soften the impact. The previous owner bought it as a project to bring this vessel back to its former glory and thoughtfully carried out the repairs and refit here in Nanny Cay with professional marine contractors. Two of the deck salon windows were cracked and replaced. The rig was also replaced with a refurbished rig and all new rigging components. The mainsail was brand new and changed from the in-mast furling to slab reefing reefing system. The cabinsole and interior carpentry was completely refinished and there is little evidence of any damage at this point.
The current owner purchased the vessel after the damage and repairs. He was of course weary about the damage and repairs hired the Caribbean Marine Surveyors for the pre-purchase survey and to inspect the areas of concern. He asked them to double check the repaired areas and inspect the structural integrity and they signed off on them. Caribbean Marine Surveyors are one of the most detailed surveyors I have encountered in the industry. Their report is available upon request. If there was an issue, they would have found it.
The owner has carried on with maintenance and she is in great condition today. This vessel is turn key and we are so confident she will pass a survey that the seller will cover the cost for the survey. If no structural issues are found in the marine survey causing the buyer to Reject the Vessel, the seller will be reimbursed at closing.
