Description
Moonraker is a highly customized 68-foot steel expedition yacht, built in the USA and
extensively refitted for diverse applications, ranging from commercial endeavours to luxury
family cruising. Initially designed for extended voyages in the Caribbean and the Mexican
islands in search of treasure, this vessel combines robust engineering with refined
aesthetics.RECENT MAJOR REFIT
**Capabilities:**
With a beam stretching 22.5 feet from bow to stern, Moonraker is versatile enough for both
commercial and recreational use. The yacht's shallow draft allows it to navigate the
Bahamas' shallow waters effortlessly, akin to vessels of significantly smaller size. Her
impressive range of 3,000 nautical miles at 6 knots is powered by reliable 671N inline Detroit diesel engines. Additional reserve tanks can extend this range by another 2,000 miles, optimising
efficiency with a minimal fuel consumption rate.
**Refits and Upgrades:**
Moonraker has undergone multiple refits, most recently by her current owner, which include
but are not limited to:
- Comprehensive engine servicing
- Installation of a new 30KW Onan generator
- New flooring throughout
- Upgraded oversized Daiken air conditioning and heating systems (mini-splits)
- Advanced raymarine electronics, including autopilot, AIS, and Starlink WiFi systems
- Complete LED lighting system
- Fresh paint from top to bottom inside and out
Aesthetic and functional transformations have introduced a new color scheme and interior
layout, enhancing both comfort and utility.
** Deck and Storage:**
The expansive main and upper decks provide ample space for relaxation and work. Both
decks are equipped with cranes boasting 5,000 lbs and 3,000 lbs lifting capacities,
respectively. There is potential for converting the top deck into a helicopter landing pad for a
Hughes 500 helicopter. All decks are constructed of thick durable steel, ensuring longevity
and strength.
**Accommodations:**
Moonraker can comfortably accommodate up to 5 guests in three cabins, or up to 8 guests
in a dorm-style arrangement. The helm deck features a captain’s cabin, helm station, and a full-beam master suite with en-suite facilities. The next deck down includes a fully equipped
galley, salon, and access to the forward and rear deck platforms. The lower deck, currently
configured to sleep two, can be reconfigured for additional guests. This deck also houses the
engine room, storage, and utility areas.
**Amenities:**
The yacht features a full galley with three freezers, two refrigerators, a propane cooktop, and
a microwave. Additional amenities include a residential washer and dryer and extensive
storage options. The foksal offers forward storage containing water tanks, a water maker,
battery storage, and other essential systems. Waste management is handled by a Purasan
system, complemented by an onboard incinerator.
** Included Equipment**
- Mini sub (Sports Sub)
- Tender (Avon side console rib with 40 Yamaha)
- Extensive toolset and workbench in the engine room
Moonraker presents a rare opportunity to acquire a robust, versatile yacht that is well-suited for extended cruising, commercial operations, or luxurious family adventures.
