Description
Designed by William Waite and built in Tampa Florida at Trident Shipworks, this is a very rare beauty. Windships were built to the same standards as Oysters, Hinckleys and Hylas Yachts and they have proved equally capable cruising boats. Every system and detail of the boat has been meticulously maintained by her current owners for the last 15 years, making this a truly exceptional opportunity for those who wish to explore the world's oceans. Step on board, set the sails and put some blue water miles under the keel. A Hydraulically controlled centerboard (6.8’ to 14.5’) will allow access to shallower anchorages and maintain great upwind performance while at sea. Simplified sail trimming with hydraulic winches and furling options for the sails makes this yacht simple to sail as a couple or even single handed. Solar and wind power assist in charging a lithium battery bank for maximum efficiency. With a water maker, ice maker and a conveniently located dive compressor the yacht is well prepared for her next voyage. Wind Seeker 1 is the perfect boat for a couple or a family looking for a yacht which can boast comfort, stability and ease-of handling. Her beautiful full circumference stainless steel life rail as well as the quality wood selection used below are rarely seen in such abundance on the yachts of today. Windships' propensity for quality craftsmanship make this an exceptional buy for adventure seeking seafarers.

Melanie earned her US Coast Guard 100 Ton Master Captains’ License before she got her drivers’ license. She grew up living aboard her family’s 47’ GulfStar Sailmaster, cruising up and down the East Coast and through the Bahamas for nearly twenty years. Melanie captained and crewed on various boats while working her way through college, then bought and lived aboard her first sailboat, Short Story, a 1969 Columbia 28, while attending graduate school in North Miami. She’s owned many boats since then. She is also an author (her books include memoirs Boat Girl and Boat Kid), contributor to Cruising World (her Short Story column ran in the magazine from 2006 to 2009) and BoatUS magazines, a freelance editor, and has worked over the years as everything from boat detailer to college professor to educational administrator. Her father, maritime author Tom Neale, instilled in her a love of sailing, writing, perusing boat listings, hard work, and repairing marine diesel engines. Melanie currently cruises the local waters of St. Augustine, FL, on various boats with her daughter, Maryann. She is a solo sailor and full-time single parent. As Employing Broker for Sunshine Cruising Yachts LLC, Melanie is dedicated to building a strong team that embodies integrity and passion for matching people with the right boats.
