Description
As Contender’s flagship and largest boat to date, the 44ST excels in performance, quality, fishability, and reliability. The 44ST is designed and engineered for speed and bluewater competitive sport fishing with a proven double-stepped hull and reverse chines perfectly balanced for the soft, dry ride and seakeeping ability Contender is renowned for. With a 44 ft. length and 12 ft. beam, weighing 19,600 lbs., and configured with triple or quad Yamaha outboards (up to 2000 hp), the 44ST is powerful and stable for running in all sea conditions, safely and faster than other center consoles in her class. It offers a stable platform for the gap tower to see fish comfortably.
Among the 44ST’s innovative features are the port and starboard forward seats recessed under the gunnel caps to keep the forward deck space open for fishing. A large lounge seat with three large storage compartments is forward of the center console, providing a comfortable relaxation and sunning area. The console interior features a freshwater head and sink and electrical panels. Large in-deck storage compartments stow gear to the Bahamas or Atlantic Canyons for longer runs.
The helm console features a curved strataglass windshield with unobstructed views and a spacious dash for two 24” Garmin MFDs. Triple ladder-back helm seats with teak trim add to the 44ST’s sportfish yacht styling, and a spectacular tackle station behind the helm seats allows tackle changes from the cockpit. Outfitted for a range of recreational or competitive fishing styles or customized to an owner’s specific style, the vast cockpit is over 100 sq. ft. to accommodate a crew of 8-9 anglers easily. Features include multiple live wells totaling 220 gallons for live bait fishing, walk-through transom, rod holders, outriggers, and more.
