Description
If you're looking for one of the best values in the 28- to 30-foot range, you owe it to yourself to look closely at a used Catalina 28.
The Catalina 28 underscores why Catalina has built more sailboats than any other American builder-more than 60,000 and counting. This versatile sloop is easy to handle and sails surprisingly well and it's relatively simple to maintain. The high-volume interior has more room than many 32-foot boats. The 28 is affordable to buy and to operate. The walk-through transom allows easy access to the water and the dinghy via a stern platform and the ladder folds up to form the stern rail. She has been lovingly maintained by the current owner.
FRESH WATER - SECOND OWNER - CLEAN - " Blue Moon" is an extremely clean, well cared for and maintained, Catalina 28 MKII with only 1383 engine hours! She has a tall rig and wing keel with a draft of 3'9". She is rigged with all lines led aft to the cockpit, roller furling genoa a Fully Battened mainsail and a Cruising Spinnaker for easy sailing!
She has plenty of room in the cockpit and has the signature Catalina stern rail seats and walk through transom to the swim ladder with plenty of shade beneath the dodger.
The interior layout is very spacious and comfortable for 4-6 friends and family. The salon has twin settees surrounding a large folding table. She sleeps 2 in the forward double V-berth cabin, 2 in the aft double berth cabin and the settees sleep 2.
The galley is well equipped with separate lockers for utensils, pans and dry food. Countertops are durable, easy to clean one-piece molded surfaces. A gimbaled, stainless steel stove converts to counter space with the handy flip up cover.

A native of northern New Jersey, Corbo was introduced to sailing shortly after graduating Ithaca College and became obsessed with sailing. Crewing whenever opportunity arose he also bought and campaigned several one-design sailboats. While still sailboat racing whenever time allows on his J-70 “Late Life Crisis” he enjoys cruising with his wife Donna. They recently stumbled over to the “Dark Side”, trading in their Beneteau 37 for a Back Cove 37.
