2018 Outremer 51' (15.65 m)
Port Camargue
This Outremer 51 (version 2) is the lightest and leanest Outremer 51 ever built by the Outremer yard. The owners, who previously had an Outremer 49, spent 6 months supervising the building and outfitting of the boat to make sure it met their demanding requirements. It came in at 10 tons at launch. VITAMIN has carbon in all of the critical places and more: carbon bulkheads and chain-plates carbon high module LORIMA rotating wing mast carbon dagger-boards carbon rudders Carbon tillers carbon davits carbon bimini top The equipment and amenities onboard reaffirm the deliberate choice of staying light and agile: The very complete sail inventory includes two mainsails (one all purpose Hydranet mainsail from 2021 and a carbon racing mainsail), genoa, gennaker, code D and asymmetric spinnaker. Three electric winches (two primaries and a helm cabin-top winch) facilitate sail handling when short handed and two autopilots provide back-up. 1100 watts of solar on the bimini top and davits, lithium batteries, Dessalator watermaker. The owner states that running the engine one hour at night (dark) underway suffices to run all systems (electronics, autopilot, fridge/freezer...etc.). The solar powers all equipment during daylight hours underway or at anchor. No generator or air-conditioning to bog down this sailing machine. Today's blue-water catamaran cruiser has a choice between motor-sailing on the heavier, high-payload capacity condos that carry all the amenities of a home or sailing on a lighter craft that is a joy to sail, even to windward. If you chose the latter, this cat is ready to go. She is in fantastic condition (photos and video October 2024) and can head to the Caribbean this fall or winter. European VAT paid for an EU resident or can be exported outside the EU. Call us for more information about registering this yacht outside the EU or a walk-through video.

Alexis grew up racing dinghies in the waters of Brittany, France. He immigrated to the United States as a young man and developed his interest in offshore cruising and racing in New England and the Bahamas. Alexis began his professional yachting career as a charter captain sailing the storied seas of French Polynesia on a Fountaine-Pajot Marquises 56 catamaran. There he developed a talent for sharing and communicating his love for bluewater sailing to his worldly guests.
More recently, Alexis spent ten years managing Nautor’s Swan Charters, a high-end charter company with over fifty Swans based in the Caribbean, New England and the Mediterranean. While at Nautor’s Swan, Alexis coordinated sales of new yachts through the French defiscalisation program. He later instituted a successful yacht sales and management program to develop the fleet in non-French territories. This experience gave him substantial experience in the many facets of yacht sales and brokerage in the United States, Europe and the Caribbean.
Alexis is bilingual English-French. He was educated in the United States and has worked in the US, Europe and the Caribbean. He has sailed extensively on multihulls and particularly enjoys performance cats.
