1985 Grand Banks Classic 42
We are pleased to present this 42 Grand Banks Classic for your consideration. The boat is in good shape but she needs some TLC. Specifically, the canvas upstairs needs to be repaired or replaced, the boat needs a good through cleaning. Their are blisters on the bottom and the current owner did get one quote of $20,000 for a complete bottom job.
Inside, the boat is in very good shape as is all of the wood work. Downstairs and to the forward, there are two cabins and a full head. The first cabin has a bunk bed configuration and it is where the water maker lives. The second cabin is a V-berth and has a dual access head with shower.
Back upstairs, you have the galley, two refrigerators and a freezer. There is plenty of sofa style seating around the large dining table. There is a lower helm unit complete with electronics. The Garmin Echo Map GPS is relatively new as is the Garmin VHF with AIS. There is excellent access to the engines and the generator as the floor pieces are removable in many different configurations.
Head down a few steps to the spacious aft cabin and you will find a queen size walkaround berth with storage underneath the mattress. There are two end tables and a desk area. There are lots of storage cabinets and closets for those linger trips. The head and shower areas are split with one on the port side and the other is starboard. This living area is quite comfortable if you are considering living on board.
This boat would make a great live aboard choice as well as cruising. Do the Great Loop or head down to the Keys for the winter. She has lots of room for living!
Up on the top deck there is a fully equipped second helm area with a new Garmin GPS. There is also plenty of room for a freezer or additional storage. There is also plenty of additional seating!
While I would not call her a "project" boat, she does need some elbow grease to get her cleaned up and restored to her natural beauty. Call for an appointment to see this Grand Banks Classic 42.
