Description
Jaga II has an extraordinary story to tell. This Ingrid 38 has nearly completed its circumnavigation with its current owners, who purchased the boat in New Zealand and set off on an adventure into the unknown. From there, they sailed through the lush jungles of Sumatra, explored the vibrant waters of Singapore, journeyed through Malaysia, and navigated the busy, bustling Malacca Strait—one of the world’s most heavily trafficked shipping lanes.
Built for offshore bluewater cruising, Jaga II is fully equipped for long voyages, with all sails in excellent condition. She has proven her seaworthiness time and again, including a successful Atlantic crossing, and has been continuously sailing for the past nine years.
Though the hull was completed in 1975, Jaga II was officially finished and launched in 1978. This classic sailboat features a beautiful wood interior that truly shines, a testament to the pride and care the owners have put into her upkeep over the years.
Some of the standout features of this timeless vessel include:
- Interior Comforts: A Dickinson Diesel Stove and Oven for warm meals at sea, complemented by a Magic Chef Microwave and a convenient Open Ocean Water Maker. The boat is also equipped with 2 Aluminium Propane Tanks and a Vented Propane Locker for safe storage.
- Electronics & Navigation: A Cape Horn Wind Vane (2019) for self-steering on long passages, paired with a Brand New Ritchie Bulkhead Compass (2024), Primary and Secondary VHF Radios (2022 and 2023), and AIS for enhanced safety and navigation.
- Mechanical Systems: The vessel features an 18” Bronze Max Prop for efficient cruising, a Fuel Polishing System for clean fuel, and 2 Electric Bilge Pumps for peace of mind in any conditions.
- Deck & Cockpit: The 33kg Rocna Anchor and Lighthouse Windlass (2022) ensure secure anchoring in any harbor, while Dyneema Lifelines and LED Navigation Lights provide safety and visibility.
- Sails & Rigging: Featuring a New 2022 Evolution Main Sail, New 2020 Far East Jib, and a Storm Tri Sail on its own track on the mast, this boat is ready for all conditions, from leisurely cruising to challenging offshore passages.
These highlights showcase Jaga II's blend of reliability, safety, and comfort, making her an exceptional choice for serious cruisers.
