Description
Step into a bygone era of maritime sophistication aboard the 1979 Viking Yachts 43 Double Cabin. Featuring twin 454 Crusader gas engines, this vessel combines power with reliability for smooth cruising. Enjoy expansive living spaces including two private cabins with en-suite heads, a spacious salon, and a well-equipped galley perfect for extended voyages or weekend escapes. Meticulously maintained and boasting timeless design, this classic Viking invites you to experience the charm of traditional craftsmanship and enduring quality on the water.
POWERBOAT GUIDE DESCRIPTION: Viking’s first fiberglass motor yacht design, the 43 Double Cabin is essentially a Viking 40 Convertible with a full-width aft cabin. The floorplan of both boats is the same from the salon forward, and the Double Cabin shares the same proven modified-V hull as her convertible sistership. Clearly dated by today’s styling standards, the two-stateroom, galley-down interior of the 43 Double Cabin was originally configured with twin berths in the aft cabin. The dinette converts into a double berth, and both heads have separate stall showers. While the salon dimensions aren’t especially spacious, the aft stateroom is very large and includes a pair of hanging lockers. Topside, the afterdeck is a fine lounging area and only a couple of steps down from the bridge with its aft helm and seating for six. Note that the wood grain mica interior of the 43 was upgraded to teak in 1982, the last year of production. Gas engines were standard but diesels were the choice of most buyers. With 310hp GM 6-71Ns, the Viking 43 DC will cruise at 18–19 knots, and the larger 410hp 6-71s cruise around 22 knots. A very popular boat, over 250 Viking 43 Double Cabins were sold during her production run.
Broker Notes: Life time fresh water vessel shows in pristine condition. Spotless both inside and out. Low mechanical hours and well maintained. Boosting many of the most sought after features wanted when looking for a spacious cruising live-aboard. Would make a great cruiser for adventures or a perfect condo on the water at the dock.

Founder Tom Dunigan's journey into the business started at a young age. He grew up on the water spending his summers at The Detroit Yacht Club and winters in Southwest Florida developing a strong passion for boating immediately. His teenage years were spent working at Hossack Marine Sales on Lake St. Clair and honed his skills through years of hands-on experience. In the spring of 2019, the boating community suffered the tragic loss of Scott Hossack, founder of Hossack Marine Sales who mentored Tom in the business. The impact Scott had on Tom inspired him to start the Dunigan Marine Group. The company started as a one-man operation specializing in brokerage services and the acclaimed Vessel Education Training. Today, Dunigan Marine has now grown to a multi personnel sales team serving all bodies of water in South East Michigan and their customers boating needs.
