John was born in the District of Columbia and raised in Northern Virginia, where his passion for being on the water was apparent at a young age. He spent his weekends fishing the Chesapeake Bay with his family and friends on his father’s fishing boat. After graduating from West Virginia University, John moved to Hilton Head Island, SC, where he obtained his first captain’s license a few years later. John then worked as a charter boat captain and navigated a ferryboat from Hilton Head to Daufuskie Island, SC. In the late ‘90s, John became the first officer on a 130’ motor vessel and learned the private yacht industry. Managing four tenders and a yacht was a good foundation to develop forward thinking and problem-solving skills over the years. He managed refits on Feadship, Viking Princess, Hatteras, Sunseeker as well as Broward yachts. John continued to build his yachting foundation, learning about boat building techniques as it rapidly changed when technology made its way into yachting. Today, after years of traveling the United States, Bahamas and Caribbean as a professional in the industry, he now brings his experience in buying, selling, trading and donating
