The Marine Trader 34 Double Cabin is a comfortable trawler designed for leisurely coastal cruising. The 34 Double Cabin was imported by Marine Trading International of Toms River, NJ, was built by CHB Marine in Taiwan and was introduced in 1974. This model remained in production 27 years after her introduction and is unquestionably the most popular trawler-styled yacht of this size ever sold in the US. Her floor plan includes a spacious Flybridge, aft cabin trunk deck, walk-around main deck, a roomy Salon with Lower Helm and Up-Galley, and two Staterooms each with ensuite Heads.
The spacious Flybridge features full Sunbrella bimini top with a four-sided Isinglass enclosure, upper helm station with full electronics, two forward facing helm chairs. The teak deck up here is in excellent condition. There is a large trunk cabin deck a few steps down and aft. The main deck features a stainless steel railing with teak rail and gunnel caps, ladder to swim platform, aft cabin access, and starboard access sliding door to the Salon. The foredeck features include bow pulpit with anchor and windlass and a sturdy Sampson Post. The full walk-around deck is fiberglass, not teak.
The Salon is open with full teak paneling and trim throughout. Large windows provide natural light and there are Levelor wooden blinds for privacy. The lower Helm Station is forward with starboard side deck access door. Starboard, aft of the helm is an "L" shaped settee, port side is a Settee aft with Galley forward. The Galley is equipped with teak cabinets, solid surface counter top, stainless steel sink, propane three-burner range with oven, overhead cabinets, and under-counter refrigerator. The Galley windows provide a great view for the meal preparation.
There are two Staterooms. The Aft Master Stateroom has (2) single berths - port and starboard, with under-berth storage, dresser, hanging locker, and cockpit access door up stairs, with lots of storage built-in. The En-Suite Head compartment has Vanity with sink, Toilet, and Shower (shower head removed – can be replaced. Current Owners use the Guest Head’s Shower). The Guest Stateroom is forward with V-Berth, under berth storage, storage shelves, and hanging locker. A large skylight provides natural light and open access to sea air. The En-Suite Guest Head is equipped with Toilet, Vanity with pull-out sink, and Shower. The accommodations are roomy, comfortable, and private. Reverse cycle AC units maintain interior comfort in both Staterooms and Salon.
This 34' Marine Trader is equipped with a 135-hp American Diesel engine that provides long-lasting, dependable, and economical power with only 1,701 hours on a new engine 14 years ago. Fuel consumption is one gallon per hour at 6.5 knots. She is a full featured trawler with room to spare, and is ready to cruise or live aboard.
REEF DRIFTER is in unbelievably excellent condition mechanically, cosmetically and how she is equipped.
