1986 Slocum 43' (13.11 m) Pilothouse 43
Green Cove Springs, Florida, United States
Madison Ann
S/V Madison Ann is one of only seven Slocum 43 Pilothouse models. Don't pass up the opportunity to own this special boat. Ask Marcy Lynn about the Immersive Tour of the interior! Designed by Stan Hundtingford to endure the weather and seas of the Pacific Northwest, this boat is as tough and strong as it is comfortable. She is the descendent of the Passport 42, and is built with the same quality of construction typical of the Taiwanese builders of the time.

Accommodations
This boat's comfortable accommodations are part of what makes it so special. Upon entering the companionway on generous teak steps, you step down into a cozy space where the master cabin (standing headroom, lots of storage, and a double bed!) lies to your left and a quarter berth to your right. A hanging locker is conveniently placed there to be used as a wet locker.
The salon is expansive and open. The owner has opted not to have a salon table onboard to preserve the space and open seating area. To starboard is the inside helm station. The entire salon is surrounded with large windows, letting in plenty of light and allowing you to see the beauty that surrounds you at anchor or at sea. Engine access is below the salon, allowing 360-degree access for repairs and maintenance.
Forward of the salon, you step down into a spacious galley with a dinette big enough for 4 and a u-shaped galley with a double stainless sink and large refrigeration and freezer system and plenty of storage.
The head rivals the head of any boat ten feet longer than this one. There is a tub with room to sit or stand in the large separate shower stall, plenty of room to stand and move about in the head, as well as a stainless sink and (you guessed it) lots of storage.
Rather than a V-berth forward. there are two bunks to port and a metal-lined workbench to starboard, meeting the needs of the true cruising sailor. The workbench closes so it can be hidden away if you have guests, but when open it gives you a nice secure space for your projects.
Throughout, the teak joinery and woodwork on this boat is exceptional. All closets are lined with teak, so as not to retain moisture. The interior, because of the pilothouse configuration, remains light and cheerful--something that is lost on many similar boats.
You won't be disappointed!

Marcy was born in upstate New York, then moved to Jacksonville, FL, where she fell in love with the beach and beach life…until Jaws came out and she saw it at the drive-in with her parents. Her childhood took her back the upstate New York, where she grew up a “Lake Girl” boating aboard a 1977 family-owned Bayliner Liberty on Seneca Lake. Summers were spent on Devil’s Lake, in the Frontenac Provincial Park in Ontario, Canada. Her experience then revolved around power boats and canoes, and she was always on the water enjoying the fresh air, exploring, fishing, swimming and basking in the camaraderie that comes with making friends on the water. While gathering drinking water and provisions in Westport, Ontario, on these summer trips, she was always fascinated with the cruisers that were docked on Upper Rideau Lake. Seeing the names and ports of call was always the highlight of these visits to town. Marcy has the sea in her veins, and naturally evolved to enjoy sailing on bluewater cruising boats as an adult.
Marcy holds a BA in Environmental Studies from the University of New York and an MS in Business Management from Northern Illinois University. She worked for 15 years as a Business Engineering Manager for UPS, and 11 years in Finance & Operations in public administration, while raising her two daughters just outside of Chicago. In 2020, Marcy answered the call of the sea and travelled to Florida to be one of the three founders of Sunshine Cruising Yachts—an adventure that has reconnected her with the outdoors and given her a new love and appreciation for the sea and the people who travel it.
She earned the title of “Top Salesperson” for SCY for four years in a row, and continues to be a team leader and integral part of the crew.
She covers all parts of the globe, specializing in Florida, Puerto Rico, & the Caribbean.
Both of her girls have now graduated college, and are excited to visit their mom in Florida and beyond.
