ACCOMMODATIONS
In the forward cabin aft of the rope locker is the head with a portable flush, counters and lockers port and starboard, and a half bulkhead with a door for privacy. Butterfly opening hatch above. Next aft are two settee/berths with storage below both and updated bright 4" berth cushions and outboard cushions. Next aft to port is the galley counter with a 1-burner alcohol stove, stainless steel sink with a cold water faucet. On aft port bulkhead are shelves. In the starboard aft cabin are the VHF and a storage area aft of the berth. The bulkheads are painted white and the trim, lockers, and sole are varnished teak. Four port lights and the opening hatch give nice natural light and ventilation throughout. A very attractive cabin.
Up into the cockpit is varnished teak seating for several. Tiller steering and aft on the stern deck is the custom-built bronze and teak gallows frame for the boom. On the starboard cabintop are a handrail, a winch for the main halyard and jam cleats for the main and jib halyards and sheets. On the port cabintop is the handrail and a dorade for cabin ventilation.
On the foredeck are the centerline bit, traveler for the self-tending staysail, and chocks port and starboard.

Kathe grew up Southwest Harbor, Maine, in and out of her father's and grandfather's boat shops and on the water in various vessels. Sailing on inland lakes at camps and on the family boats out of Southwest Harbor were a large part of summers with family and friends. From the late '60s through early '80s, the family summer vacation was going to the Friendship Sloop Races in Friendship Harbor on their 1904 Friendship Sloop, Dictator, along with many sails with family and friends to island beaches. Kathe and her husband, Dan, live on Mount Desert Island and have five grown children and several grandchildren. They both are USCG Master Captains and enjoy working and sailing their Friendship Sloop around the nearby islands and in and out of harbors.
