1985 Cape Dory 27' (8.31 m)
Charleston
The Cape Dory 270is aFull-Keel/Centerboarder that offers yachtsmen a shoal draft boat without sacrificing the safety, stability, or ease of handling of a "Full-Keel" design. With board up the draft is three feet and with board down, the CD270 draws seven feet, making the boat exceptionally close-winded.The centerboard gives the helmsman new wetted surface and helm balancing options. With 9'5" beam and standing headroom, the CD270 has one of the largest interiors of any 27-footer afloat. It sleeps four comfortably, has a fixed table with two leafs and a galley. An enclosed head with shower stall and a private vanity area separate the main salon from the V-Berth.Cape Dory 270 "Freeride" underwent a huge refit, taking almost 3 years. This refit included a new motor, new sails, new running rigging, brightwork, tankless water heater, and much more. She was re-launched in November 2022.

In Charleston, South Carolina, The Multihull Company President and CEO Captain Will Miller assists our clients in any sail training they may require. Will is a seasoned sailor who also owns and operates the successful Charleston Sailing School at Charleston City Marina. From this location, he brokers the sale of multihulls for The Multihull Company and monohulls for 5 Oceans Marine Group. When the need arises, he teaches many of our clients the finer points of catamaran handling and voyaging.
Will grew up in Virginia and learned to sail in the Chesapeake Bay. He has lived in Charleston since 2001 and knows the city well. Throughout his life Will’s parents have owned a variety of sail, ski, and fishing boats in the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries, the Carolinas, and the Caribbean. Family vacations included chartering in the Virgin Islands, St. Lucia, the Bahamas and Jamaica. Will developed a love of the water at a very young age and chose to pursue a career as a captain after graduating from the College of Charleston in 2005. As a lifelong sailor Captain Will has traveled extensively throughout the waters of the United States and Caribbean. He has been a certified sailing instructor and licensed US Coast Guard Captain since 2006. While attending the College of Charleston Will worked at the Charleston City Marina. Post college graduation he lived and worked in Negril, Jamaica where his family owns and operates a restaurant, fuel dock, fishing, and sailing charters. Shortly after his return to Charleston, Will began working for the sailing school and 5 Oceans Marine Group as an Associate Broker before eventually taking over the helm at TMC from his close friend and confidant, our Founder, Phillip Berman.
As the world’s largest truly global brokerage company specializing in multihulls, The Multihull Company is ready to assist you if you wish to buy or sell any type of yacht in the Carolinas, or anywhere on the East Coast of the United States.
