To port, the aft facing navigation station is open and spacious. An opening port to the cockpit insures communication with the crew. The nav. station is large enough to house all required navigational equipment, yet is out of the way when not being utilized.
The L-shaped galley to port features a top and front loading icebox that is constructed around 4" high density foam insulation. Outboard and above are drawers abd four large lockers with louvered teak doors. A dry locker forward next to the SS twin sinks offers convenient additional storage. There is a Force 10-3 burner stove with oven and a large trash container.
The main salon has a starboard and port settees with the port converting to a double berth when needed. There is a centerline double leaf drop down table with fiddles and drawer storage in the ends as well as the center of the table. Passage by the table is excellent with the leaves down and her varnished teal and holly sole accent the large louvered locker doors port and starboard outboard of the main salon.
The sit down shower and head combination allows a sizeable amount of storage in the head area with mirrored locker, storage is available under the vanity. Access is through one of two teak privacy doors. Opposite the head to starboard is a large cedar lined hanging locker.
The forward stateroom boast P&S shelves, 6" thick foam mattress for the large v-berth, an enormous cedar lined hanging locker as well as large storage space under the berth.
NOTE: The Tartan 40's interior furniture is hand crafted with all trim work in solid teak, screwed together and properly plugged. The teak locker faces and their louvered doors are solid teak as well, not teak faced plywood with unfinished edges. Notice the dovetail joints in all the drawers.
