Description
Built in the Ott yard in Germany and sold under Bianca Yachts, the Aphrodite 101 is known for its sleek design, tall rig and well thought out winch positioning which makes for an easy shorthandling. This boat is one of ten boats brought into Seattle in the late seventies to start a one design fleet. There are still a number of 101’s located in the Pacific Northwest. The current owner is the second owner and has owned “Prism” for 38 years. In 2005 the boat went through a total refit. Seaview West Boatyard did a bottom peel, re-glassed the bottom with vinylester resin and epoxy barrier coat. Bottom paint is Petit Vivid (2 gal white to 1 qt white) Top sides were painted and non-skid applied with Awl Grip “Graystone.” The hull was painted with Awl Grip “Sky Blue” Thru-hull gate halves were replaced with ball valves. New teak cockpit sears were installed. The existing engine was replaced with a new 1GM Yanmar 10 and a new Gori folding prop was installed. As an award-winning dealership and brokerage today, Signature Yachts continues and builds on an outstanding reputation begun with its founding in1989 as a yacht importer. In the decades since, adjusting sails to meet shifting winds, it has evolved into the premier Northwest seller of Beneteau sailing yachts and Fountaine Pajot catamarans and a leading broker of pre-owned sailing and power yachts.
Words of its founder still provide guidance and inspiration: “We don’t sell boats,” said Robbie Robinson. “We help people buy them and then we back them with the best service in the business. The basis upon which we do this is called QSIV—Quality, Service, Integrity and Value. It is the basis of our history. It is also the foundation of our future.”
That future now lies in the hands of co-owners Tori Parrott and Dixie McCullough, who have successfully led Signature through challenging times since Robbie’s passing in 2019. In addition to their literal oceans of sailing experience and business acumen, they know their success depends on acquiring and keeping a strong team.
You also can count on us regularly for a friendly, enjoyable experience, not to mention large measures of fun at our annual get-togethers and legendary rendezvous.
