Description
55 FT POWERCAT PILAR X, Performance that thrills!
Powered by four 300 hp Suzuki outboard engines, this vessel redefines the future of pleasure catamarans.
Pilar X is purpose-built for the island life, perfect for the Bahamas, Caribbean, or anywhere shallow water navigation is a must. She glides into lagoons, beach bars, and any hidden coves where most Yachts do not go, and she does it with style.
From the moment you open up the throttles on the four outboards, the difference is undeniable.
The Pilar X surges forward, reaching 27 knots in just over a minute. There is no industrial hum of a typical diesel engine. She is powerful, responsive, and whisper-quiet. With smart space and smart engineering, and no diesel inboards, the interior space is liberated, allowing for advanced comfort, storage, and liveaboard usability.
Maintenance is a dream, with no complex engine rooms to crawl through; outboards s are accessible, removable, and replaceable with ease.
Cost-effective and practical, this power cat can be serviced on a slipway or beach. Float her in at high tide, clean her at low tide, and she's back in Action with zero yard time and no expensive haul-outs.
She's a captain's dream set-up - fast, efficient, and hassle-free.
CURRENT QUOTE TO SHIP FROM CAPE TOWN TO THE USA IS $75,000.

Capt. JP De Wet Steyn is originally from South Africa, where his passion for boats began at age 5 with his first boat. An admiralty career spanning nearly 40 years, he has added numerous maritime international and domestic licenses, including the MCA 3000 Ton Masters since 2003, honing his maritime skills and experience in both sail and motor. He has managed and navigated a wide variety of vessels, including his own, through most of the world’s oceans and waterways with voyages throughout North and South Eastern United States, Bermuda triangle, Bahamian Islands, Panama Canal, Caribbean, Atlantic Ocean, Indian Ocean, Mediterranean and the Pacific.
In 2005, he joined forces with his wife and partner, Madelin, to formally establish their maritime business, My Yacht Guardian, Inc., which provides a vast array of yacht centered services to an exclusive clientele. They both recognized the need for clients to have someone conscientious, dedicated and trusted, with whom they already forged a friendship with, to professionally handle and protect the clients’ interests in real estate, yacht sales and acquisitions. They both rose to these self imposed challenges becoming licensed Florida Realtors and JP became a licensed yacht broker in 2012. For several years now, JP handles the luxury yacht deals while his wife handles the real estate matters.
Hunting big game, target shooting, deep sea fishing, sailing his 1945 custom built Snipe, “Saucy Lady”, evening cruises to dinner on the “JuJu”, snowmobiling, and managing a yearly trip or two to their lakeside cabin in Maine or their place in South Africa, JP and his wife always make time for the numerous friends anywhere in the world who once upon a time started out as a client calling to inquire about a yacht. Traveling throughout the US in their 40’ Tiffin, “Tiffy”, or up the coast in the latest vessel is a welcomed adventure, but staying in touch with these friends is always magic creating cherished memories.
Having JP on your team as your yacht broker is the best decision you will make. You are not just a client, you are a friend. He laser focuses on his clients’ interests, providing them with the reality behind every yacht, its previous ownership and future maintenance requirements, just as he would if he were purchasing the vessel for himself and focused on getting a great deal. With Capt. JP as your yacht broker, rest assured that not only are YOUR best interests his primary focus, but you are also benefiting from the numerous years of experience and knowledge as a master yacht captain whether listing your yacht for sale or searching for your next luxury yacht.
