Description
The popular Lagoon 380 is one of the best-selling catamarans on the market, with about 1000 built from 2000 to 2019 by Beneteau in Bordeaux, France. These classy catamarans are built for coastal cruising and chartering and are also proven circumnavigators. Lagoon 380s are well-built with both safety and comfort in mind.
This catamaran has had only 2 owners, NEVER chartered, and is in excellent condition. Wylicat is hull number 26, which if you check the reviews, was better built than later models. The Lagoon 380 is a great cruising catamaran that sails better than many other cats and provides lots of living space for the money.
Wylicat is the highly sought after ‘owner’s version’ with three cabins and two heads. The salon and galley were refit in 2020 with new cushions, Corian cocktail table with storage below, new Corian counters, Kenyon Silken 21” induction cooktop, new double-bowl stainless steel sink and faucet, and new Skysol custom window blinds and Dometic roller window covers (blackout and screen) throughout.
The owner’s suite occupies the starboard hull, providing a spacious private cabin with queen berth aft, an en-suite bathroom, desk and ample storage, while two guest cabins and second head and shower in the port hull offer wonderful space for family or friends. Whether relaxing in the spacious cockpit under the soft-top bimini, lounging inside the bright salon, or relaxing on the trampolines, there’s a favorite seat for everyone aboard.
The current owners have enjoyed sailing Wylicat for 6 years and have kept her in great condition with many upgrades and professional engine and operating systems maintenance. This vessel already comes with much of the equipment you need to go cruising including 300 watts of solar, 125-amp inverter/charger and battery bank. The Lagoon 380 has an 80-gallon water tank, and she carries 2, 26-gallon fuel tanks.

Accomodations
The Lagoon 380 is comfortable with her beamy hulls and headroom. The unique vertical salon windows are more shaded from the mid-day sun, lessening the “greenhouse effect” from the slanted window designs, and also allowing for amazing visibility with a 360-degree viewing from inside the salon. The dual sliding doors give the salon a very open, airy environment. The galley is equipped Kenyon Silken 21” induction cooktop (2020), an air-cooled Frigoboat fridge/freezer, and an electric pump for the galley water with a 110v 10-gallon hot water tank. There is also a water filtration system installed under the sink. There are 3 sleeping cabins with large comfortable berths and ample storage. The 2 heads each have a shower, one electric marine toilet, and one manual toilet.
On the exterior the Lagoon 380 has plenty of unobstructed space to easily walk around. The bridge deck clearance is high in comparison to other cats; this greatly reduces slamming and improves hull longevity. The U-shaped cockpit seating and table is spacious and creates a very secure and enclosed cockpit area. Wylicat has a dodger and canvas bimini top, and the cockpit table is new. The owners are leaving extras including a Magma BBQ, galley equipment, dishware and cookware, life jackets, and spare parts.

Dave actually grew up in the Midwestern US, but got hooked on boating while summering on the Jersey Shore while growing up, starting his sailboat racing career in duckboats at the age of 8. He spent his subsequent years racing one design sailboats on inland lakes and rivers, then eventually moved up to a Beneteau 35S5 which he sailed on Lake Michigan for 3 years.
When his tech sales career moved him to Boston, Dave brought the Beneteau with him and sailed it throughout Cape Cod and the islands for a dozen years. Dave has also done yacht deliveries from Bermuda to New England and skippered several charter boats throughout the Caribbean. Switching to a Silverton 38 nearly 17 years ago, Dave brings experience with both sailboats and cruising power boats, not to mention extensive cruising knowledge of New England waters. In 2020 Dave obtained his OUPV-Six Pack Captain’s License.
Having been both a buyer and seller of boats, for boat buyers Dave knows what to look for in a boat, what questions you should ask, as well as what kind of boat would be suitable to the kind of boating you want to do. If you’re selling, Dave can help you market the boat to its proper audience and find the buyer who’s style suits your boat.
Dave got his undergraduate degree from Duke University and his Masters from Purdue University. When he’s not brokering boats he’s spending time on his Silverton, Cash In Advance, with his wife Tricia, or tinkering with an old British car (and sometimes actually driving it). He tries to keep up with his 2 daughters Katie and Stephanie, as well as his 3 stepchildren Kelli Ann, Hayden and Carly.
