Born in Morehead City, North Carolina, Joe has family ties dating back to the earliest coastal North Carolina navigators. He served six years in the U.S. Coast Guard as a Machinery Technician obtaining E-5 ranking and currently holds an active USCG Master Captain’s license which he first obtained in 1984. After his honorable discharge from the U.S. Coast Guard, Joe began a successful career in yacht brokerage and management, operating boats of all styles ranging from 18′ to 75′.
Before coming onboard with Bluewater Yacht Sales in 2008, Joe was a top performing salesman and received the Regulator Marine Gold Sales Award in 2004 & 2005 as General Manager of a large Morehead City dry storage & sales operation. Since then, Joe has used his skills and background from both the USCG and nearly two decades in the yacht brokerage business to help his clients obtain their boating dreams. Joe also completed the Viking Yachts Master Program in 2013. Joe lives in Morehead City with his wife Cathy and enjoys spending time with his family: sons BJ & Nicholas, daughter-in-law Annie and his granddaughter Bailey.
