Why This C&C 34 Stands Out
- Lightweight Power: With a D/L ratio of just 177, it’s the lightest in the C&C lineup—ready for spirited competition or efficient cruising.
- Sleek Hull Design: Its advanced length-to-beam ratio and striking sheerline offer both speed and eye-catching grace. The shapely transom and distinctive stern rudder placement deliver performance with a statement.
- Race-Proven Heritage: Inspired by the successful C&C 37R, this 34 delivers proven racecourse-winning DNA with cruising comforts. Has a retractable keel/centerboard with 4’ up and 7’ down.
- Deck Excellence: Legendary C&C decks blend art and functionality, including a unique rudder post setup for superior support and easy maintenance.
- Serious Rigging: The 34R boasts an aggressive rig (SA/D 22.9) with end-boom sheeting and a special triple-spreader spar. Quick acceleration and optimized controls put you ahead of the fleet.
Comfort Meets Function
- Extended Cockpit: The splayed transom cutout offers more space, table, and plenty of seating area
- Smart Traveler Placement: For those prioritizing unobstructed cockpit space and relaxed sailing, the traveler is moved forward to the cabin top, handling the sheet at a point farther up the boom. This arrangement keeps the traveler out of the way, making the cockpit truly open for socializing.
- Comfortable layout and quarters for anchoring: Below deck has a forward cabin, head, galley, and additional sleeping (sleeps 1-4)
Main Cabin / Salon
- Spacious Layout: The main salon features a wide, open space with settees (benches) on both the port and starboard sides. These settees can double as single berths, with the port side settee optionally extendable for added comfort.
- Central Table: A folding or drop-leaf dining table is typically situated between the settees, providing a social gathering and dining area.
- Warm Ambiance: Rich wood trim and cabinetry are abundant, paired with white or light-colored bulkheads to create a bright yet cozy atmosphere.
Galley (Mid-ship, Starboard Side)
- L-Shaped Galley: Located to port and just aft of the companionway stairs, the galley features an L-shape for secure cooking underway.
- Equipment: It includes a deep stainless-steel sink, gimbaled stove/oven (usually alcohol or propane), icebox/refrigeration, and ample counter space.
- Storage: Multiple lockers and drawers provide organized storage for provisions, cookware, and utensils.
Navigation Station (Aft, Starboard Side)
- Dedicated Nav Area: Located opposite the galley, the chart/navigation station provides space for charts, electronics, and navigation tools. This area typically has a seat and a chart table suited for managing navigation tasks.
Forward Cabin (V-Berth)
- Private Stateroom: The bow houses a V-berth, suitable for two adults. There are reading lights, lockers, and shelving along the hull sides, maximizing comfort and storage.
- Privacy Door: The cabin can be closed off from the main salon for privacy.
Head (Port Side)
- Enclosed Head: Positioned just aft of the forward cabin (to port in the photo), the head includes a marine toilet, washbasin, mirror, and sometimes a pull-out shower for rinsing off.
- Storage: Cabinets and cubbies are available for toiletries and cleaning gear.
Quarter Berth (Aft, Starboard)
- Large Single/Small Double: A quarter berth runs aft under the cockpit on the starboard side. It's often used as a sleeping space for a single adult (sometimes two) or for extra gear storage.
Storage and Ventilation
- Ample Storage: Throughout the boat, you'll find numerous lockers, shelves, and under-seat stowage—ideal for extended cruising or racing.
- Ventilation: Opening ports, overhead hatches, and dorade vents ensure good air circulation.

Background
I spent my youth on and in the water. My grandparents were avid sailors and split their time between the Abaco Islands, Bahamas, and Annapolis, Maryland. I got to experience some of their cruising life on the Chesapeake Bay and in the Bahamas aboard their 42-foot center cockpit motorsailer.
After 33 years in the Information Technology (IT) field, I retired in 2023. For the past four years, my husband and I have owned a 42-foot Marine Trader. I do most of the captaining, and he is ‘Scotty’ in the engine room. We spend most of our time cruising the beautiful Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries.
My Next Adventure
I decided to take on yacht sales as my second career because I love the water and cruising lifestyle. I am passionate about learning and have fallen in love with the boating community and lifestyle. There is always a new adventure around the corner and some new challenge to face. The more I learn about cruising, the more I discover. I also love sharing my passion with others and can talk boats (and dogs) all day. So why not combine the two?
What is my next big adventure? Follow me on social media to find out, and hopefully, I can help you sail or motor away on yours.
