2001 Voyage 43' (13.28 m)
Cape Charles
Very desirable 3 Cabin/2 Head layout. This boat has proved an excellent home for a young family over the past 5 years of adventuring along the East Coast through the Caribbean. These boats are known for their rugged construction, ease of maintenance, and respectable sailing performance. The Voyage 440 model won CRUISING WORLD Boat of the Year in 2002 and Best Cruising Multihull in 2002, the first multihull ever to win the overall sailboat of the year award! he judges fairly gushed over the unmatched blend of performance, quality of construction, and attention to details necessary to qualify her as a true bluewater cruising cat.Though Voyage Yachts was anticipating this coup would boost the sales of their 4 cabin versions for their namesake charter fleet, instead they found the factory book full of orders for owners versions. The 2001-2004 era Voyage 440 Owner s versions set a standard that few other production catamarans have subsequently achieved. Mike grew up on the Delaware River and Jersey shore where he spent as much time as possible on the water wakeboarding, kite surfing, and surfing. It wasn’t until his late 20’s that he discovered sailing when he and his brother refit a Bob Perry monohull and sailed from New England to New Zealand.
After the trip across the Pacific, he knew a catamaran was in the cards. After years of saving and searching, Mike bought a 47’ Crowther cat in Panama. After an extensive refit, Mike, his wife, and young son live aboard and cruise their catamaran from New England to the Bahamas.
