Scott Baker brings a lifetime of sailing experience and a deep passion for the water to his role as a yacht broker with RCR Yachts. After learning to sail on Sodus Bay and spending many joyful seasons racing with his family at the Rochester Yacht Club, Scott has spent decades immersed in the world of boating. He earned a U.S. Coast Guard Master's License, which he used to Captain a 51-foot Beneteau in the BVI's for a youth summer program. He also served as Captain of the Colonial Belle, and did many yacht deliveries including both power and sail.
A certified US Sailing Instructor at multiple levels, Scott has run a sailing school, worked in a marina and sold sails for a local loft. He has logged countless miles cruising and scuba diving in the 1000 Islands, Mallorca, as well as the British Virgin Islands. Scott has actively raced on hundreds of different sailboats through the years and currently is a winning tactician on a J24 and J35 out of RYC.
He and his partner, Trish, own a beautifully crafted Starflight 38 designed by Jim Taylor, which they enjoy sailing with their two young adult sons and two teenage daughters. Scott joins RCR following a career in television and working in his family’s fishing business, and he looks forward to helping clients find the right boat to match their dreams and lifestyle.
