Starting competitive sailing at 11 years old, Page Obenshain has devoted all his working life to the marine industry, beginning his professional path at Morgan Yachts in the field of yacht design. As the third employee to join the company, Page played a pivotal role in shaping the organization, actively assisting in the creation and development of several essential departments. His early commitment to the industry was clearly demonstrated through his volunteer efforts during the construction of the America’s Cup 12-meter yacht "HERITAGE."
Page was hands-on throughout the building process and participated in sea trials. By the time he transitioned to the next phase of his career, Morgan Yachts had experienced considerable growth, expanding to over 400 employees and delivering up to 30 boats per month. Page’s entrepreneurial spirit came to the forefront in 1970 when he became a coo-wner of L&S Boat Transportation. The company's subsequent acquisition by Joule Yacht Transport marked a significant milestone in his business endeavors.
In 1978, Page and his family took ownership of St. Petersburg Yacht Charters, which set the stage for further expansion. Their portfolio grew with the acquisition of St. Petersburg Yacht Sales, Marina Point Ships Store, and the associated fuel docks. Working alongside his wife Lee, they established a large charter fleet in Ft. Myers, which has since evolved into Southwest Florida Yacht Charters. Their business interests continued to broaden with the purchase and integration of a sizable ships store in St. Pete, successfully merging it with their existing operations. Demonstrating their dedication to quality and customer service, the Obenshain’s managed a comprehensive boat maintenance and new boat outfitting service.
Over the course of 48 years, they utilized their expertise to buy, renovate, and sell nearly one hundred boats, further solidifying their reputation for excellence within the marine sector. In 2010, Page and Lee made the decision to focus exclusively on the brokerage aspect of their business, St. Petersburg Yacht Sales, while continuing to offer select services to their clients. By 2026, increased overhead costs prompted them to make a strategic move: joining their brokerage with Preferred Yachts. This decision streamlined operations and positioned the business for ongoing success. Together with his sales team—Norm Russick and Peter Hartley—Page and Lee offer extensive experience with both powerboats and sailboats, providing expert consultation on a wide array of marine- related topics.
Page is a founder of Kart 4 Kids, a 501(c)(3) charity dedicated to raising funds for Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg. Over the past 14 years, the organization has donated $2,225,000. In addition, Page has raised money for numerous other charities, including the Ronald McDonald Charities, Ready for Life, and the Celma Mastry Ovarian Cancer Foundation. He has served as president of the 2,500-member Florida Suncoast Region of the Porsche Club of America, as a former yacht club board member, and as a founder of the St. Petersburg Municipal Marina Advisory Committee. Page stands ready, willing, and highly capable to assist with all boating needs. Please do not hesitate to reach out and give him a call.
