Michael is known for his extensive time on the water and has always been connected to the maritime industry. His journey to becoming a yacht broker started with selling hundreds of smaller vessels to first-time buyers and educated buyers alike. He had to gain a lot of experience and knowledge quickly to keep up with the demand. Buying a yacht can sometimes be a stressful experience and Michael is known for being a great buffer, handling the hard conversations. Fellow associates have commented that deals have been completed that looked impossible. As a Florida native, being on a boat is a natural way of life. The son of a Navy Chief, he would visit the Naval Station with his father and they spent years fishing and diving around Florida, including the Keys. During these years he also learned to appreciate the Central Florida lakes through bass fishing, watersports, and cruising. His first introduction to sales was passing out cards door to door on Saturdays, for the family roofing company. Then, started a lawn maintenance business as the youngest person to hold an occupational license in the local Orange county, at the time.

To be around ports of call, he accepted an opportunity with a company applying protective coatings in coastal environments from Mobile, AL to Key West, FL. With the temptation of the sea always close by, he began to mate on different boats. Sometimes working all day, then driving all night to be at the dock on time. Logging many hours of time on large center consoles, with multiple engines, fueled a desire to be on the water consistently. During a tournament in the Keys, sponsored by a yacht dealer in Tavernier, he realized he could combine his sales experience with being on the water and meeting new people.

Other areas of life include being a part of missions and outreaches close to home and abroad. He has a heart for people and their hope for a better life, and in the yachting world, an even better lifestyle. Michael's customers are treated with care and concern for their needs, as if it were him buying the vessel.
