Manufacturers Description
The Sea Ray 290 Bow Rider is one big bow rider. With a wide nine-foot, eight-inch wave-calming beam and with the power of a MX6.2L MPI Bravo III MCM stern drive, this boat will travel smoothly and comfortably over any water.
Through the walk-through transom door, the swim platform has a concealed storage bin and a concealed stainless steel three-step ladder with integral grab handle. Fender storage and an integral ski tow eye are also included. Abaft the helmsman's seat, the refreshment center has a wetbar with sink, faucet with pullout sprayer, trash receptacle, and storage cabinet with bottle rack.
The luxurious bow loungers have storage below and there's a built-in ice chest to keep drinks cold. Filler cushions turn the bow area or the aft cockpit area into a sunpad. To port, an enclosed, lockable head compartment with VacuFlush head and sink with pullout sprayer makes the hours on the water much more enjoyable.
From Powerboat Guide:
The market for super-size runabouts was undergoing explosive growth in the early 2000s when Sea Ray introduced the 290 Bowrider. She was then the company’s largest open-bow model ever, and her wide 9'8" beam offered interior space for a small crowd. Built on a deep-V hull, the 290 has the size and bulk to handle offshore waters with ease.
Two cockpit seating plans were available: The standard layout has U-shaped seating aft, a back-to-back companion seat, and a centerline transom walk- through, while an alternate plan features a large sun pad aft, a starboard walk-through, and bucket seats forward.
A cockpit wet bar is standard in either arrangement as are an electric engine compartment hatch and an in-floor ski storage locker. In the bow, a table and filler cushions turn the forward seating area into a huge sun pad. A lockable head in the portside helm console comes with a VacuFlush head, sink, and pullout shower.
Additional features include a flip-up helm seat, transom shower, and an extended swim platform. Standard Power package was Twin 260hp MerCruiser sterndrives deliver a top speed of around 45 knots.

David likes to joke that he was born on the water and was sailing before he could walk. There may be some proof to that as his father and business partner Lee has circulated photos around the office of David single handing the families “sailing dinghy” at a very young age.
As a youngster, he became a successful sailor at the Thames Yacht Club (TYC) in New London, Ct. As a member of the TYC’s competitive sailing team racing Lasers, Blue Jays & 420’s. Through the years, he’s competed in countless one-design regattas, Block Island Race week, Off Soundings and even competed in 420 Nationals, where some of the most feverish competition was always expected.
During the “summer season” David could always be found somewhere on the water running boats all over New England, fishing, sailing, diving. At the young age of 15, David and his father Lee sailed the families J30 from New England to the West Coast of Florida where they set roots.
After spending the better part of two decades in various Executive Management & Sales positions in the mortgage lending/servicing and Default Asset Management space. Most recently serving as VP of Operations/Vendor Management for a National Default Asset Management Company and previously serving as the C.O.O. of a national asset disposition firm managing R.E.O. Properties for the nation’s largest financial institutions. David decided it was time to return to his passion of the marine industry.
With nearly 10 years of brokerage experience with some of Florida’s premier Yacht Sales Organizations, where he created the marketing and on-site display at Marina Jack, serving as the Edgewater Boats Product Line Manager. David also assisted with the Vicem & Marquis lines. David & Lee decided it was time to build their own brand and formed Professional Yacht Sales International in September of 2018.
David’s vast knowledge of both power and sailboaters’ needs gives our clients a comfort level that their best interests and Professional Representation are his primary concern. Regardless of which side of the transaction (buyer/seller/both) he is on, David brings his lifetime of experiences to every client relationship always putting the client’s needs first.
When he is not working (which is rarely) he is an avid boater, scuba diver & fisherman competing in local fishing tournaments.
