Born in the Pacific Northwest town of Bandon, Oregon, Jeff was exposed to the sea life early on. Spending more time in the boat basin than anywhere else, he found his love in life. In 1984, he joined the US Navy, serving on a destroyer, the USS Dahlgren, as a welder and Search and Rescue team member then becoming a commercial diver upon his exit from service.
Jeff knew he had to work “on the water” and did so as a deckhand on yachts in St. Thomas, Antigua and St. Martin, working charters through the BVIs, USVIs and Caribbean. At 23, he delivered a 100’ sailboat from Tortola to Gibraltar, and knew exactly what he wanted to do. Returning to the US and obtaining his captain’s license, he started working on a yacht with over 30 charters that year alone.
Working on some of the finest yachts such as M/Y Indion, M/Y Dolce Far Niente, M/Y Mystique, M/Y D’Natalin II, S/Y Georgia, S/Y Valkyrie and M/Y Fighting Irish, Jeff has first hand knowledge of the yachting life.
Returning to the Pacific Northwest to build a house on the coast, Jeff worked for the Pilot’s Association as a pilot boat and ship assist captain. He also partnered in a successful marine survey company servicing So. Washington State, Oregon and Northern California. A few years later, Jeff returned to yachting as captain of vessel’s such as M/Y Engelberg, M/Y Step One, M/Y Maghreb V and M/Y Four Wishes.
Jeff brings his knowledge, experience and expertise of 32 years to United Yacht Sales, providing each and every client the most comprehensive, honest, hard-working and detailed approach to the sale or purchase of a yacht. He prides himself in being able to direct clients to the right boat, applying his detail oriented and easy going approach to make the process enjoyable.
With an office in Lauderdale Marine Center, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Jeff can be seen throughout the boatyard, making himself available to his clients. He is able to make the effective connections between yachts owner and all services necessary, utilizing United Yacht Sales powerful reach, to make an excellent transition between wanting a yacht and owning a yacht!
