Description
"Tartan-built boats have been proven to have exceptionally good value over the years. On the used-boat market, they are among the most sought-after boats and have tended to maintain their owners equity. At the same time, new Tartans have never been cheap. Over the years the Tartan 37 was built, its base price almost doubled, reaching $100,000. Fully equipped, its price had risen to over $120,000 by 1987. Since then, prices on older boats have steadily declined, but today, even 30-year-old 37s are commanding over $50,000 as used boats.
Developed before builders strove to pack small apartments into the sterns of mid-sized cruisers, the Tartan 37 has attractive proportions. It has a gentle sheer and a straight raked stem profile, with moderate overhangs at both bow and stem. Underwater, the boat has a fairly long, low-aspect-ratio fin keel, and a high-aspect rudder faired into the hull with a substantial skeg. Freeboard is moderate. The boat is balanced and pleasant in appearance. It is not a character boat, but is attractive, fairly racy, and functional—a typical Sparkman & Stephens design of this era." - Practical Sailor, Tartan Used boat review by Darrell Nicholson
"Tabula Rasa" is ready for her next adventure. She was lovingly refit within the last few years, and now is just in need of some interior/exterior cosmetic TLC to get her shiny once more. She is a solid cruiser/racer, and will make a great liveaboard for a couple/small family that loves a higher performance sailboat.

Carolyn grew up living aboard her family’s 47’ GulfStar Sailmaster, cruising up and down the East Coast and through the Bahamas for nearly twenty years. Shew crewed on various boats, detailed boats, and worked at a prominent marina in St. Augustine, FL, while working her way through college. She worked her way up to management at the marina and was a loyal employee for over 15 years. Talking to the boaters of all types as they transited the ICW and stopped at the marina, was one of the highlights of her job, but they got to take off and head to places more tropical while she was stuck in St. Augustine.
Carolyn is a fine arts graduate from Flagler College, an artist, yogi, and an avid surfer and guitar player. She travels the world to various surfing destinations whenever she can and enjoys traveling solo.
After the marina, Carolyn worked for a local recruiting firm and then Solar Stik as an administrative assistant. She has also taught yoga at various venues around St. Augustine. She brings her organizational and logistical skills with her to Sunshine Cruising Yachts, and is very excited to be working on the water again. She lives with her husband and two boys as well as various animals (mainly cats and guinea pigs) in St. Augustine.
Be careful! Her enthusiasm is contagious!
, `testimonial` ="Carolyn is the boat broker to work with!
My wife and I used her to sell our 38ft sailboat and she was awesome to work with. We had the boat in Georgia while we lived in Idaho and she was located in Florida and she went out of her way to help when things needed to get done on the boat.
I would recommend her to absolutely anyone that is looking to sell or buy a boat. An absolute pleasure to work with
