The Grand Banks 46 Classic ranks among the finest cruising
yachts ever produced. With her timeless trawler profile,
seakindly hull, and elegant teak interior the 46 Classic has defined
cruising luxury since her introduction in 1985. The three-stateroom, Galley
Up floorplan was standard. The large owner's aft cabin is designed with a
walkaround queen-sized bed and direct cockpit access. With her
spacious salon and comfortable staterooms, the 46 offers plenty of
interior space yet remains easily manageable by a crew of two. Like
all Grand Banks models, the 46 Classic was built to high productions
standards. The teak joinery is flawless; the mechanical systems are
first-rate; hull finish is mirror-smooth.
Full walkaround decks and a teak aft cockpit allow
the crew safe, secure movement while at sea and during docking.
The large engine room has over five feet of headroom. Twin Cat
diesels deliver a top speed of 18-20 knots.

Design and Features
- Interior Layouts: The 46 Classic was offered in different layouts, standard is a three-stateroom configuration with an aft master suite and forward guest V-berth, and a double berth side-stateroom.
- Aft Master Stateroom: The spacious owner's cabin is aft, often featuring a walk-around queen-sized bed, ample storage, a private head (often a split head and shower arrangement), and direct access to the aft cockpit.
- Galley: The galley is an L-shaped "up" configuration to port, featuring a sink, oven, electric stove, deep freezer, and generous storage.
- Salon: The large salon has a lower helm station with doors to the port and starboard side decks, and comfortable L-shaped settees for entertaining or dining.
- Exterior: The exterior features full walkaround decks, an aft cockpit for secure movement, and a flybridge with a second helm and seating area. The mast can be folded down, which allows for access to inland waterways or areas with lower bridge clearance.
- Construction: Built by American Marine Ltd. with a focus on high production standards, including flawless teak joinery and robust mechanical systems.
The semi-displacement hull design provides stability and efficiency at trawler speeds while still allowing for higher speeds when needed.

After a successful 18 year career as the owner of an Interior Design related business, I decided to pursue a career that followed my passion. With no previous yacht sales experience I started Bayport Yacht Sales in December 1989. Now, after more than 37 years of selling boats and tons of transactions with happy customers, I can truly say that I still love what I do and look forward to coming to work (almost) every day! It's really easy to be good at something that you love.
