Description
DELPHINA is a custom‑designed Waterline 55, built in 2003 by Waterline Yachts of Sidney, B.C. for her original owners. She exemplifies the craftsmanship and signature aesthetics of the Waterline brand—most notably her flush deck with a raised house and wraparound windows, elegant profile, performance underbody, and spacious cockpit with walk‑through transom. Constructed to exceptionally high standards with top‑quality materials and meticulous attention to detail, Delphina has been continuously maintained to an extraordinary level since new.
Her three‑cabin layout is bright, spacious, and designed for luxurious livability at sea. With abundant natural light from nine deck hatches, eight opening portlights, 14 hull deadlights, dorade vents, and solar vents, her interior feels open and airy. The raised house provides 270° visibility from the salon, nav station, and galley—one of the Waterline design’s most distinctive features.

The salon is spacious and beautifully finished, offering excellent sight lines through the raised‑house windows. Comfortable seating, gracious curves, and high‑quality joinery define the living area. The galley to port includes premium appliances, while the dedicated forward‑facing navigation station to starboard provides exceptional workspace for long‑range cruising.
Aft of the galley, the full‑size equipment room includes a workbench, tool storage, and outstanding access to major systems including steering, autopilot, heating, and electrical components. Hull & Deck Construction
DELPHINA's hull and deck are fabricated from high‑strength mild steel (minimum 44,000 PSI yield) with plating thicknesses ranging from 1/2" at the keel bottom to 3/16" on hull sides and 11‑gauge steel on the deck and house. All seams are welded inside and out, and transverse and longitudinal framing contribute to exceptional structural rigidity.
The keel incorporates an integral baffled fuel tank above a sealed, lead‑filled bulb for ballast. A separate propane locker drains overboard, and a watertight forward sail locker provides collision bulkhead protection. Stainless steel fittings support all major deck hardware.
Coating System: The hull was fully sandblasted inside and out, zinc flame‑sprayed, epoxy‑coated to 20 mil thickness, faired, and finished with Awlgrip polyurethane in Off White with Jade Mist Green accents. The deck features Awlgrip Griptex non‑skid. Cockpit surfaces and transom steps are overlaid with teak.

With my background in boating, it has always been an easy choice for me to search for a way to make a living in the marine industry. My high school and college summers were spent teaching junior sailing and winters were spent working at a local marina and on the floor of the North Sails loft in Seattle. After graduating from the University of Washington Business School with a concentration in Finance, I furthered my experience in the industry working for the Seattle Boat Show. I enjoy merging my experience in the industry and my passion for boating here at Swiftsure Yachts. Since joining Swiftsure Yachts in 2007, I have been involved in transactions from Sweden to Malaysia and everywhere in between. I hold credentials as a Certified Professional Yacht Broker and licensed California Yacht Broker. I am a member of Seattle Yacht Club and Cruising Club of America and also volunteer my time on the board of directors of The Sailing Foundation with a focus on safety at sea. I am a past board member of the Northwest Marine Trade Association where I chaired the Grow Boating committee.
