Description
“Dizzy Alice”
The Ranger Tugs R-29 Command Bridge has become one of the most popular compact cruising boats on the market, delivering the comfort, features, and livability of a much larger vessel in a package that is efficient, easy to handle, and perfectly suited for extended cruising.
“Dizzy Alice” is a well-maintained 2019 example showing less than 800 hours on the Volvo diesel engine and under 200 hours on the generator, reflecting light and careful use. Ranger Tugs designed the R-29 to maximize space, visibility, and functionality, making it a fantastic option for cruising couples while still offering accommodations for additional guests.
With an overall length of just over 33 feet and a beam of approximately 10 feet, the R-29 Command Bridge provides excellent stability and interior volume while remaining easy to maneuver in marinas and locks. Power comes from a Volvo D4 diesel engine producing approximately 300 horsepower, providing reliable performance and efficient cruising speeds. Standard bow and stern thrusters make docking and maneuvering exceptionally easy.
One of the defining features of this model is the Command Bridge, which provides a second helm station along with a fantastic elevated entertaining and viewing area while underway.

Ranger Tugs 29-CB Walkthrough
Boarding Dizzy Alice is easy via the swim platform into the aft cockpit. The cockpit is thoughtfully designed with versatile seating including a reversible bench along with jump seats to port and starboard. The opening cabin bulkhead allows the cockpit and salon to blend together, creating one large entertaining space when the door is open.
Stepping into the salon, the interior feels bright and open thanks to large surrounding windows and Ranger Tugs’ signature overhead glass atrium that floods the space with natural light. The helm station sits forward to starboard while the dining area and seating are arranged around the salon.
Moving forward and down a few steps leads to the accommodations where the R-29 provides comfortable sleeping arrangements for multiple guests.
Ranger Tugs 29-CB Salon
The salon aboard Dizzy Alice is comfortable and practical, designed to make the most of the available space while maintaining excellent visibility in all directions.
To starboard, a convertible dinette provides seating for meals or relaxing and can easily convert into an additional sleeping berth when needed. The helm seat is reversible, allowing it to flip aft and join the dinette to create additional seating around the table for dining or entertaining.
Large windows surround the salon and the overhead glass atrium brings in abundant natural light, giving the interior an open and inviting feel.
Ranger Tugs 29-CB Galley
The full galley is located to port and is positioned just inside the cockpit entrance, allowing the cook to remain engaged with guests both inside the salon and outside in the cockpit.
The galley is well equipped for extended cruising and features generous counter space, a stainless steel sink, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, and ample cabinetry for storing cookware and provisions.
Cooking aboard is supported by a gas cooktop along with a gas oven, providing true meal preparation capability rarely found in boats of this size. The thoughtful layout makes the galley comfortable and practical whether preparing quick meals underway or cooking while anchored out for the evening.
Ranger Tugs 29-CB Helm
The interior helm station is located forward to starboard and provides excellent visibility through the large curved windshield and surrounding windows. Engine controls, thruster controls, navigation electronics, and autopilot are positioned within easy reach for comfortable operation during long cruising days.
The elevated helm position combined with the large windows gives the operator outstanding sightlines while underway.
Ranger Tugs 29-CB Command Bridge
The Command Bridge is one of the standout features of the R-29 CB and significantly expands both the operational and entertaining spaces of the boat.
Accessed from the cockpit via molded steps, the bridge provides seating for four along with a fully functional upper helm station. The bridge helm includes Volvo engine controls, bow and stern thruster controls, VHF radio, navigation electronics, autopilot capability, and remote spotlight control.
Grab rails, cup holders, weather-resistant speakers, and convenient power outlets make the bridge both comfortable and practical whether underway or relaxing at anchor.
Ranger Tugs 29-CB Accommodations
Despite its manageable size, the Ranger Tugs R-29 offers comfortable accommodations for cruising couples or families traveling with guests.
Forward is the master stateroom featuring an island berth along with storage and access to the vessel’s private head compartment with shower. Additional sleeping space is provided by the convertible dinette in the salon and the mid-ship berth tucked beneath the salon floor, allowing the boat to comfortably sleep up to six adults.
The layout provides privacy while maximizing the interior living space.
Ranger Tugs 29-CB Mechanical and Electrical
Dizzy Alice is powered by a Volvo D4 diesel engine producing approximately 300 horsepower and showing less than 800 hours. The engine provides dependable performance and excellent fuel efficiency for cruising.
The vessel is also equipped with a generator showing under 200 hours, providing reliable power for onboard systems, air conditioning, and galley appliances when away from shore power.
Standard bow and stern thrusters make docking and maneuvering in tight spaces simple and stress-free.
