Full Details
The Catalina 320, designed by Gerry Douglas and first introduced in 1993, was one of Catalina's most successful designs with approximately 1,164 produced. Escape II is a MK I, Hull # 1090 manufactured close to the end of the California production run. The MK II, started with model year 2007 and Hull # 1098 when manufacturing had shifted to Florida.
Due to her being built so close to the MK II transition, several of those changes had already been incorporated into the design. Most notably, the Water Capacity was increased to 51 Gallons and the Yanmar diesel upgraded to a 29 HP - 3YM from the previous 27 HP.
Escape II has 2 Cabins, 1 Head and her interior cushions and woodwork is in especially good condition. She also has the upgraded innerspring mattresses, fore and aft, which became a standard feature in 2004.
On deck, she has the sensible, tried and true deck and cockpit layout that Catalina is known for. She has a new, 2025, North roller furling mainsail and her canvas, which is in very good condition had the Eisenglass replaced last year. Most of the Running Rigging was also replaced in 2025.
Recent Upgrades
2025 - New Furling Mainsail by North Sails ($3000)
2025 - New Eisenglass ($1800)
2025 - New Batteries ($1200)
2024 - Almost all running rigging replaced
2023 - New Custom Binnacle and wheel cover
2021 - New Rariton Superflush
Overall, Escape II is a great family boat, in very good condition for sailors wanting to move up in size or someone stepping down seeking simplicity.
