Description
Previously operating as a business for captain-led day sailing trips, she could be returned to similar service or enjoyed as a private cruiser. She is currently usable as-is, with room for improvement.
The Hunter 31-2 (referred to as the Hunter 31) is a 31-foot fractional sloop designed by Glenn Henderson for coastal cruising. She features an 11.08 ft beam, a 3.92 ft shoal draft, and solid headroom at just over 6ft. The B&R rig (no backstay) provides stability and ease of handling, while the design emphasizes cockpit space and interior volume.
Rigged as a fractional sloop, she is equipped with an in-mast furling Doyle mainsail and a 110% roller furling genoa, allowing for convenient sail handling from the cockpit. Design features include a fixed fin keel with weighted bulb, spade-type rudder, and a walk-through reverse transom with integrated swim platform for easy boarding/swimming.
A Bimini top (only two years old) provides shade, the folding helm increases usable cockpit space, the two stern rail seats add seating and the cockpit cushions provide extra comfort, making the cockpit area well-suited for enjoyable days out sailing, whether solo or with guests.
Electronics include a Raymarine Axiom chartplotter (new), Icom HM-195 VHF, and an ACR ResQLink Personal Locator Beacon (PLB).
Auxiliary power is provided by a Yanmar 3YM20 21hp diesel engine.
