WALK-THRU
HULL AND DECK
- As one first approaches "ANATHEA" you will be greeted by beautiful dark green boat that from all sides has that undeniable design of a Tug Boat. From the vertical push pads on the bow, the soft rounded combings in the cockpit to the imitation stack on top of the pilothouse she is undeniably a tug in miniature. Her hull is a dark or hunter green colored gel coat adding to her more rugged look. The hull is protected by two rub rails a smaller upper one as part of the cap rail and a lower very substantial rail that circles the entire boat providing great protection. On the transom is a full width fiberglass swim platform which has is covered with a faux teak providing additional traction and great look.
- Surrounding the cockpit is a divided stainless steel stern rail which is mounted atop of the high stern combing providing a very secure feeling when in the cockpit, as you move forward there is narrow side deck leading from the cockpit, however it widens as you approach the port and starboard sliding pilothouse doors. These provide quick and easy access to the bow from the helm, there is also a substantial bulwark that rises as you go forward for added security with a stainless steel bow rail extends back to the side doors as well as (4) handrails mounted on top of the pilothouse providing added handhold while on your journey forward. At the stern are a set of heavy stainless steel davits to handle her fiberglass dingy which is included. To get out of the sun and rain there is a bimini in matching dark green sunbrella. When anchoring there is an anchor roller with a Rocnor anchor and rode leading back to the windlass.
STEPPING BELOW
- Entering the cabin from the cockpit you pass through a pair of teak hinged doors, then descend two steps into the main cabin. This space is very bright and airy with large Diamond Sea Glaze windows on 3 sides and the pilothouse at the forward side end with more windows. Adding to the open brightness is the use of white bulkheads, cabinets and celling trimmed in teak hardwood through out the boat.
- In this space to port is the galley which is quite large for a boat of this size. In the galley for food prep is a (2) burner glass top stove and microwave, to keep things cold is an under the counter refrigerator and for clean up is a large stainless steel sink. Dry-good storage is provided with cabinets below the sink and stove and taller storage cabinet at the forward end of counter.
- The dinette is located directly opposite on the starboard side. This is booth style arrangement with a beautifully finished teak drop leaf table. Seating is provided by two upholstered bench seats large enough to seat (4) and with storage beneath. When sitting at the table your view of the outdoors doesn't end, the large windows provide visibility in three directions.
- Moving forward and up 2 steps your now at the helm. Your visibility of 360 degrees provides you with confidence that you are always able to see your surrounding and other boat traffic when underway, there are also a sliding door on both port and starboard providing excellent access to the side decks. On the starboard side is located the helm, with full instrumentation: overhead are located the VHF, chartplotter, fishfinder and autopilot. Directly in front of the beautiful (6) spoke teak wheel are full engine instruments, bow thruster controls, large chartplotter / radar and miscellaneous switches needed when under way. Located on the inboard side of the dash is the full breaker panel. On the port side is a buddy seat providing the same visibility and accessibility to side decks as the helmsman. Beneath the seat is a storage locker as well. In from of the seat are controls for the generator, air conditioning and tank gages.
- Forward from the pilothouse and down (2) steps, to starboard is located the head area. This space contains an electric flush toilet, vanity with a stainless steel sink and storage beneath and a pull out shower head.
- Just forward of the head is a pullman style V-berth with storage below it and to starboard and on port is a hanging locker and seat.

Welcome to my little part of the marine industry. Let’s see how I may be of help to you. My name is John Heffner (Jack) and I have been in the marine industry full time since 1984 when I moved to Rock Hall, Maryland, to work for Gratitude Yachting Center. I entered the boating industry after leaving a career with a consulting engineering firm in Pennsylvania designing HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems for commercial structures. I joined the staff at Gratitude Yachting Center working as a rigger and systems installer for 10 years. I became a partner and have worked in most aspects of the business from installer, service manager, sales of both new and used boats, and the liaison with several of the boat manufactures that we sold to include the following US builders; Island Packet, Eastern Boats and Ranger Tugs and European builders to include Nauticat, Moody, Menorquin and Kirie also known as Feeling. For the past 41 years, I have been around and understand the characteristics and construction of many types of boats and have worked with builders of boats from United States, England, Finland, France, and Spain.
I feel my strongest asset to my customers is my ability to understand their wants and needs, and an ability to help them get the boat that they are looking for, while making it a fun experience. I am a very hands-on broker and like to be involved with my customers to be certain he or she is satisfied with their purchase.
When I came on board with S & J Yachts I expanded my boating career with new boat lines and with both new and previous customers.
Whether you are looking to sell your current boat or buy a boat (either power, sail, new or previously owned, I would welcome the opportunity to help you!
