Stephen Palmer was born and raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia, at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay, where his passion for the water began at a young age fishing offshore along the Virginia and Carolina coasts. His drive to build a career on the water became clear early on, leading him to earn his 100 GT Master Captain’s license while continuing his education at Old Dominion University.
While completing college, Stephen worked within the sportfishing community, gaining hands-on experience that would shape his career. After graduating, he transitioned full-time into the marine industry, where his knowledge and work ethic opened the door to a wide range of opportunities—from specialized training with the Navy to serving as a Service Manager at a leading marine facility for several years.
Building on that foundation, Stephen expanded his expertise into yacht construction, founding Palmer Custom Yachts and becoming a skilled boatbuilder. This unique combination of on-the-water experience, technical service knowledge, and hands-on boatbuilding gives him a distinct perspective that few brokers can offer.
Today, Stephen leverages that well-rounded background to guide clients with confidence, insight, and attention to detail. His commitment to exceptional service and his deep understanding of the vessels themselves ensure his clients can make informed decisions and fully enjoy their time on the water.
