1999 Cabo 35 Express “Brenda Lee” – Upgraded Caterpillar Power, Garmin Electronics, Turn-Key Sportfishing Boat
The 1999 Cabo 35 Express “Brenda Lee” is a standout example of one of Cabo’s most sought-after and best-selling sportfishing hulls, known for its durability, ride quality, and offshore performance. Designed for serious anglers and cruising comfort alike, the Cabo 35 Express delivers a proven combination of rugged construction, efficient layout, and fishability.
This vessel is equipped with the desirable upgraded Caterpillar 3208 425hp diesel engines, offering an excellent balance of speed, reliability, and fuel efficiency—making it ideal for long offshore runs or extended fishing trips. Its lower-profile hardtop design allows access to areas restricted to full tower boats, while still providing essential offshore fishing features such as outriggers and a well-appointed cockpit.
“Brenda Lee” has seen consistent upgrades and maintenance, enhancing both performance and onboard comfort. Recent improvements include a new helm enclosure (2024), custom mattress (2023), and a newly upholstered helm chair (2025). The helm is outfitted with dual 16” Garmin displays, complemented by a new radar array and transducer (2024) for modern navigation and fish-finding capabilities.
Additional upgrades include a Fusion sound system with cockpit speakers, new VHF antenna (2024), and underwater lights (2025) for added ambiance and functionality. Mechanical updates such as fuel injector replacement (2024) and aftercooler service (2022–2023) reflect proactive maintenance. Ground tackle has also been improved with a new anchor motor, rode, and chain (2021).
Cosmetic and functional enhancements like LED lights (2025) and a freshly painted roof (2025) further elevate the vessel’s appeal.
Whether you're searching for a capable offshore fishing platform or a well-maintained express cruiser, the 1999 Cabo 35 Express “Brenda Lee” represents a compelling opportunity in today’s market.

Boating is in Mike Scalisi’s blood. He grew up in Weymouth, Massachusetts at the boatyard his family still owns today. After graduating from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor's degree in Marine Affairs, Mike moved to Fort Lauderdale, where he started out washing boats for Allied Marine to get his feet wet. With a tireless work ethic, his career blossomed from there.
Mike had a 100-Ton USCG captain’s license, so he found work quickly. He took a job as a mate on a 100’ Westship that traveled with a classic 46’ Merritt. For six months, they traveled the Caribbean, visiting virtually every Caribbean island, from St. Thomas to the Grenadines, and then spent three months in the Bahamas, competing in the Bahamas Billfish Championships.
He went on to run a few private sportfish vessels before becoming the fleet captain for Lazzara Yachts. Mike’s responsibilities there included all new factory yacht deliveries from 68 to 116', captain and crew orientations, offshore closings, and brokerage fleet maintenance. After five years, he accepted a position as a yacht broker with MarineMax. His boat-brand specialties were Hatteras and Cabo Yachts, but he also dealt with brokerage vessels of all shapes and sizes. In 2012, Mike was named the number one Cabo salesman in the country.
Today, HMY is proud to have Mike as a member of its expert team. His knowledge, passion, and dedication to his clients is well known throughout the industry. He is an HMY perennial top performer, closing yachts of all shapes and sizes. Mike is a proud member of the International Yacht Brokers Association Board of Directors (2020-2022). Fort Lauderdale Magazine readers have named Mike BEST BROKER IN LAUDERDALE 2020 and 2021 in the Annual BEST OF LAUDERDALE issue.
