Description
The Viking 70 Convertible Gen II represents the next evolution of one of Viking’s most proven platforms, built from the ground up with a focus on offshore performance, fishability, and long-range comfort. Drawing from the success of the 74, 82, and 90, this clean-sheet design incorporates refined hull geometry, a slightly narrower beam, and an extended cockpit—resulting in a smoother, drier ride and improved efficiency without sacrificing space or usability.
Powered by MAN V12X 2200 MHP or MTU 12V2000 M96Z engines, the 70 is designed to deliver speeds in the low 40-knot range while maintaining control and balance in changing conditions. Viking’s Advanced Propulsion System, including flow-aligned running gear, propeller pockets, and electronic power steering, enhances handling and responsiveness whether running offshore or maneuvering in close quarters.
The cockpit has been lengthened and engineered into the hull from the start, providing more working space without affecting the boat’s running attitude. Everything is laid out with real use in mind—from clear sightlines from the bridge to efficient movement during a fight. The 70 is also fully equipped for tournament fishing, with integration for a Palm Beach Towers tuna tower, outriggers, and advanced sonar systems.
The open bridge features a centered helm with flush-mounted electronics, three helm chairs, and ample seating for guests, along with a forward lounge and built-in freezer and sink.
Inside, the layout is clean and functional, with a natural flow from the cockpit into the salon. A dayhead is positioned just inside the entry, and the galley can be configured as either a peninsula or island layout to match the owner’s preference. The interior is finished in horizontal-grain walnut, built in Viking’s in-house Mill, with attention to detail throughout.
Below deck, the four-stateroom, five-head layout provides comfort and privacy for both owners and guests. The full-beam master is complemented by a forward VIP and additional guest staterooms, while the aft crew quarters feature private access to the engine room—ideal for extended trips or tournament schedules.
The engine room is designed for accessibility and long-term ownership, finished in Snow White Awlgrip for visibility and equipped with systems such as the Spot Zero Double Pass watermaker, ElectroSea raw-water treatment system, and advanced ventilation and fire suppression.
The Viking 70 Convertible Gen II is a well-balanced platform that delivers where it matters—performance offshore, practical layout, and the ability to fish or cruise without compromise.
