Description
Designed by renowned naval architect Bill Dixon, Champagne is a beautifully crafted Prout 72 catamaran built in Thailand for her original and current owner and launched in 2015. Purpose-built for serious bluewater cruising, she has already circumnavigated much of the globe and continues to cruise the Caribbean in exceptional condition. Combining elegant lines, impressive sailing performance, and remarkable onboard comfort, Champagne represents a rare opportunity to acquire a proven long-range cruising catamaran that has been meticulously maintained and continuously upgraded by an experienced owner.
Her spacious interior is designed for comfortable liveaboard cruising, featuring generous accommodations, air conditioning serving the aft cabins, a large 100L water heater, multiple refrigeration systems including two fridges and two freezers, and a fully equipped galley with electric oven, microwave, coffee machine, toaster, and 5-burner propane stove with dedicated vented gas locker. A large medical inventory onboard further reflects the vessel’s thoughtful preparation for extended offshore passagemaking.
Champagne is exceptionally well equipped for self-sufficient cruising. Dual watermakers provide both 24V and 220V freshwater production capabilities, while substantial electrical capacity is supported by 24 x 6V house batteries, solar panels, dual 130A alternators, shore power connectivity, and a 9kW Onan generator. Entertainment and onboard comfort are enhanced with plasma televisions, surround sound speakers, Bluetooth audio, and Starlink Ocean internet connectivity.
At the helm, the yacht is outfitted with a comprehensive Raymarine navigation suite including dual chartplotters, ST7000 hydraulic autopilot, radar, AIS, wind instruments, depth sounder, Caribbean charts, VHF radio, and multiple multifunction displays. Deck equipment is equally impressive, featuring five electric Lewmar 70 winches, a manual Harken mast winch, rigid walkable bimini, dinghy davits with electric winches, extensive anchoring systems, and a 10/12-person liferaft.
Under sail, Champagne is powered by an extensive inventory including a fully battened mainsail, multiple genoas, gennakers, spinnaker, and mizzen staysail. Her reinforced mast and new stainless rigging installed in 2019 provide additional confidence for offshore passagemaking. Twin 150HP Steyr Marine diesel engines with approximately 2,900 hours deliver reliable propulsion, paired with Max-Prop bronze propellers for excellent efficiency and maneuverability.
Additional highlights include dual dive compressors, washing machine, oversized freezer capacity, multiple bilge pumps throughout both hulls, substantial fuel and water tankage, and a capable aluminum dinghy powered by a Yamaha 50HP four-stroke outboard.
Strong, elegant, and extensively equipped, Champagne is a true ocean-going catamaran ready for immediate cruising and new adventures anywhere in the world.

Accommodation
The accommodation layout aboard Champagne is designed for comfortable long-term liveaboard cruising, combining generous private spaces with practical functionality for offshore life. Based on the available walkthrough and onboard specifications, the yacht features a spacious owner-oriented layout with large aft cabins in each hull that benefit from dedicated air conditioning and abundant natural light.
The central salon offers excellent visibility and a warm, inviting atmosphere with expansive windows surrounding the living and dining areas. The raised salon design creates an open feel while maintaining easy connection to the cockpit and helm area. High-quality finishes, practical storage solutions, and excellent ventilation throughout the yacht make the interior especially comfortable for extended cruising.
The galley is fully equipped for serious onboard living and positioned to serve both the salon and cockpit dining areas efficiently. Extensive refrigeration and freezer capacity, along with generous counter space and full-size appliances, make provisioning for long passages simple and practical.
Guest accommodations are arranged to provide privacy and comfort, with well-sized cabins, ample storage, and dedicated heads. The hull layouts also incorporate substantial utility and machinery spaces, allowing systems such as the dual watermakers, dive compressors, laundry equipment, and additional freezer capacity to remain easily accessible without intruding into the living spaces.
One of the standout features aboard Champagne is the balance between luxury and practicality. While the yacht offers the comfort expected of a large cruising catamaran, every space has clearly been designed with real-world offshore use in mind. Wide companionways, excellent storage, robust systems access, and practical circulation throughout the vessel make life aboard easy whether at anchor, underway, or crossing oceans.

Owners Comments and Boat History
Champagne, a striking catamaran designed by the renowned Bill Dixon, began construction at the Prout facility in Thailand. Following the closure of Prout before the yacht's completion, the project was acquired and professionally completed by Ettore, who oversaw the final fit-out and commissioning. Champagne was launched and first registered in 2015 by her original and only owner.
Since her launch, Champagne has circumnavigated nearly the entire globe, proving herself as a capable, comfortable, and exceptionally seaworthy bluewater cruising catamaran. She is currently cruising the Caribbean.
The owner is meticulous when it comes to maintenance, and Champagne reflects that philosophy. She has been cared for to an exceptionally high standard, with every system maintained in excellent working order before each passage.
A passionate sailor, the owner prefers to rely on wind power whenever possible. Champagne is equipped with an impressive inventory of seven sails, allowing her to perform efficiently across a wide range of conditions. When required, the twin Steyr Marine 150HP diesel engines, professionally installed during the completion of the yacht and currently showing approximately 2,900 hours, provide reliable and economical propulsion.
