Description
The Fountaine Pajot Helia 44 earned a reputation as one of the most successful cruising catamarans of her generation, combining comfortable accommodations, practical sailing performance, and efficient systems in a manageable 44-foot platform. Ohana is the desirable Maestro owner's version, offering a dedicated full-length owner's hull and a layout designed for extended cruising, liveaboard use, or comfortable island hopping throughout the Caribbean.
The starboard hull is devoted entirely to the owner's suite, featuring an island berth, desk/workstation, generous storage, and a spacious private head with a separate shower. The port hull provides two guest cabins, each with its own private head, giving owners and guests excellent privacy and comfort aboard.
Above deck, the protected helm station offers excellent visibility and easy sail handling. A recently replaced Doyle fully battened mainsail (2025), Doyle furling headsail (2026), and new StackPack with lazy jacks (2026) help ensure the sail plan is ready for continued cruising. An electric winch assists with mainsail handling, while the wide side decks, forward trampoline, and generous cockpit provide comfortable outdoor living space.
The galley is equipped for extended cruising with a 190-liter refrigerator, 90-liter freezer, ENO propane stove and oven, double stainless-steel sinks, and ample storage. Air conditioning throughout the salon and cabins provides comfort in tropical climates, while the Northern Lights 9kW generator supplies dependable onboard power away from the dock.
Navigation and communication systems include a Garmin chartplotter installed in 2024, Garmin VHF with remote helm microphone, Garmin autopilot, dual Garmin GMI 20 displays, and Fusion audio entertainment. Electrical systems include solar charging, Victron battery monitoring, inverter power, battery charger, and shore power connectivity.
Power is provided by twin Volvo Penta D2-55 diesel engines with saildrives, delivering efficient cruising performance and a reported cruising speed of approximately 7.5 knots. Fuel capacity of 124 gallons and water capacity of approximately 198 gallons support extended time away from the marina.
Located in Tortola, British Virgin Islands, Ohana presents an opportunity to acquire a proven owner's version cruising catamaran with significant recent sail and equipment upgrades already completed.

Owner's Comments & Boat History
We purchased Ohana new in 2015 and placed her into charter service at that time. However, she was never a typical charter vessel. As owners, we spent more than 100 days aboard annually, allowing us to closely oversee maintenance and perform a significant amount of preventative care ourselves. With a background in the marine industry, we were able to stay actively involved in keeping the vessel in excellent condition throughout our ownership.
In addition to regular maintenance, Ohana consistently received exceptional care, including routine cleaning, waxing, and polishing. After 11 years of ownership, changing family priorities and life at home have led us to offer Ohana for sale. She has been a wonderful vessel for our family and has been thoughtfully maintained throughout her life.
