The 1987 Hunter Alura 30 (built by Luhrs/Hunter) is a classic Downeast-style sports cruiser. Known for a semi-displacement hull, full keel, and exceptional fuel efficiency, she operates as a versatile platform for weekend cruising, fishing, or day trips with a 14–15 knot cruising speed.
Design & Performance
Style: Traditional Downeast design featuring high gunwales, wide side decks, and a large, deep cockpit.
Hull: Semi-displacement hull with a full keel, providing steady tracking and excellent handling in various water conditions. (Note: The keel was slightly redesigned in 1988 to reduce vibration issues in earlier models).
