Description
2022 Dehler 30 One Design AVAILABLE NOW in St Barts. Priced below market value for a quick sale.
This is an exceptional opportunity to own a 2022 Dehler 30 OD right in the heart of the Caribbean racing circuit for a fraction of the original purchase price. Raced for just two light seasons around St. Barts, 'Flying Nemo' remains in Excellent Condition, professionally managed, and ready to race the upcoming race season.
The Dehler 30OD was named Sailing World's "Best Offshore Racer" in the magazine's 2022 Boat of the Year awards, recognized for its combination of build quality, shorthanded performance, and sophisticated design. She features a high-performance one-piece carbon mast paired with an aluminum boom extended to the maximum allowable length, a 2.2m composite T-keel with lead bulb, and twin carbon rudder blades making the boat easy to helm at all angles of heel. Standout features include a composite bowsprit with bobstay and padeye for tacklines to handle Gennaker and Code Zero loads, twin 200-liter water ballast tanks per side for stability with small crews allowing for an extra 200kg (440lb) on the high side in the form of water ballast. The signature "Stealth Drive" system operated from the cockpit, in which the entire prop and prop shaft can be retracted up into the hull when not in use, eliminating drag and the risk of fouling on lines or debris.
This modern offshore race-cruiser blends cutting-edge ocean racing technology with shorthanded efficiency. Reaching along at a comfortable 14-plus knots under main, A-sail and staysail. Her high-volume scow bow and chined hull deliver jaw-dropping speed downwind while remaining remarkably stable and safe. All with the amenities to double as a capable cruiser while embodying the "racer-cruiser" philosophy Dehler set out to achieve.
Whether you target the Voiles de St. Barth, the RORC Caribbean 600, or fast shorthanded campaigns, Flying Nemo has CE Category A 'Ocean' rating and is ready to step on and race competitively.
Pricing reflects the owners motivation for a quick sale and the race Genoa being delaminated. Vessel is as advertised, priced well below market value and in excellent condition. Flying Nemo is your ticket to the podium! Contact us today for many more recent photos or for details on how to submit your offer. Are you ready to fly?

Accommodation
Despite its racing pedigree, the Dehler 30 One Design offers a surprisingly livable interior for a 30-footer. Heading below, rather than the spartan racing interior one might expect, the layout feels far more like a modern cruiser, with trademark Dehler off-white, grey, and red trim, wood laminate saloon bench seating, and a centerline table. Standing headroom reaches 1.82 m, and the boat sleeps six across a double V-berth forward, two aft quarter berths, and two salon settees. All berths measure two meters or longer, a deliberate priority for the design team. The galley sits to starboard and can accommodate a portable refrigerator, while the enclosed head is located to port for privacy. The galley features a gas stove with electric ignition, sink with foot pump, and 12V outlet. Interior components are lightweight and removable, allowing the boat to transition quickly from cruising mode to race-ready configuration. White GRP sandwich bulkheads create a bright, open atmosphere, while the open-plan salon and ring-frame gateway to the forepeak further enhance the sense of space. The result is a practical interior that serves its crew well offshore without carrying unnecessary weight.

Deck and Hull Equipment
The Dehler 30 One Design is engineered from the ground up for racing performance. The hull and deck are vacuum-infused in E-glass with a PVC foam core, reinforced by E-glass sandwich bulkheads and Dehler's proprietary Carbon Cage, a structural framework built into the bottom of the hull that distributes loads evenly across the structure. This construction method produces a remarkably stiff and lightweight hull with a total displacement of just 2.8 tons. Above the waterline, the moderate scow bow generates dynamic buoyancy when surfing while cutting cleanly through chop, while pronounced aft chines provide stability and lift at speed. The narrow stern minimizes wetted surface area, and the long, straight hull form delivers excellent tracking and visibility. Below the waterline, the 2.20 m T-keel with lead bulb provides exceptional righting moment, while twin rudders deliver precise, balanced steering at any angle of heel. Together, the hull, keel, and rudder configuration create a platform that is exceptionally responsive and fast.

Sails and Rigging
On the water, the Dehler 30 One Design delivers performance that far exceeds what most sailors expect from a 30-foot yacht. The deck-stepped carbon mast stands 13.18 m tall, paired with a square-top mainsail and extended aluminum boom built to the class limits. A composite bowsprit with bobstay supports both the gennaker and Code Zero, while the inner forestay allows a staysail to be deployed for both upwind and offshore sailing. Twin adjustable backstays provide precise rig tuning, while the cockpit layout keeps every control line within easy reach for efficient short-handed sailing. Reviewers have noted speeds exceeding 14 knots under sail while maintaining excellent control in offshore conditions.
